hi people,

i have receive from a friend a fuel tank to put on my SV650 - 99

but she have a *"knock" on it

http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/3585/sv650.th.jpg (http://img821.imageshack.us/i/sv650.jpg/)

so i will bring this one to a painter, but before i will remove all the paint and fix this knock.

The best way to remove the paint is use a orbit sander with P80 ?
for filling this knock should i use a fiberglass kit ? or a filler is good enough ? this knock is deep ~1cm/0.40inch

another tips / links ?

thx a lot people.
(i will post picture when it will be done)

*knock: sorry my english suck  i dont know remember the good word :/

Would have thought you would be better off with filler than fiberglass but I'm no expert.

P.s The word you are looking for is 'dent', and your english is a whole lot better than my French/Dutch!

Orbit sander worked for me... dent I had was bigger and on the side of the tank.

I used "plastic padding" fibreglass reinforced filler, it worked well. Painter will know what to use if you are not sure.

just looked at how much a decent tank would cost to buy and was shocked, never looked in to it before.
