No mate, i fully agree, they were being tw4ts, but at the beginning before any filming they had a negative attitude straight away and you can tell the type they are, especially the one being interviewed.

BTW, i couldnt do a rolling burnout ;)

it was coming voer the m27 past the rosebowl cricket ground, they hide there to catch the barry boys coming and going from hedge end inst est it goes from a 40mph limit to a 30mph and apparently i was clocked speeding, cant remember how fast i was going but i think it was something like 33mph and breathalysed, whilst giving me my telling off some knob head Barry flew by at warp 9 and they went after the, so i quickly pegged it

What utter contrived daily mail tright ****e.

Im not even going to start to try and go through all that was terrible with this programme but I have picked my favourite bits of ****e.

firstly, right at the start is the copper stating that it is a real headache to deal with the london to brighton Run and coming accross like it shouldnt be allowed. ITS YOUR JOB MAN !!! you are paid to up hold the law while the public excercise their rights to do lawful things and pursue a happy life. If one of those thigns is to meet up with law abiding like minded fellows and head to the seaside then tough.

Secondly the language used was very sensationalist and gave the impression that only a few of the thousand that attend are law abiding.

and the statistics about bikers kept being regurgated in a way that basically gave the impression that we die becuase we are reckless and has nothing to do with cage driving numptees or genuine errors at lawful speeds and conditions.

Grrr.

I feel a letter to the BBC coming on.

What a load of **** that programme was. Negative biker-bashing rubbish that implied the event was an inconvenience and negative, and also this is the sort of thing that does nothing to help the relationship between people who ride and who don't.

All black leathers, normally has a dubious tinted visor, on a purple/burgundy Pan type bike. Doesnt stop after collecting evidence, just radios it in. Rides like a copper, easy to spot, thinks all bikers are stupid and will do a pair of U turns to try and prove this point.
Ironically he was 'pratrolling' around on the same day Sussex plod were stopping all bikes on the A24 and offering safety advice and Sam Browns except this one which went past twice!

There's also a silver BMW unmarked bike around in Sussex.

Unlikely that the biker was in uniform. A Policeman can only stop you when in uniform, that's why those in unmarked cars still tend to be in uniform, but the bikers don't tend to pull you over, they just call for back up.

What? The guy doing the powerslide was only doing it to promote relations between people who ride and who don't.???

While I think the 3 month inside sentence was outrageous and shouldn't be imposed by people who are not good enough to perform that skill on someone who can ride that well that he can perform it. (But back in the real world, he obviously wasn't doing himself any favours - esp. when not noticing a straightlaced rider in their midst)

You are right, but that particular piece of dual carriageway is fairly well known to be patroled by police and just so happened to be right outside the house of the conservative party chairman.

I wish I had seen this programme last year if it was a repeat, I would probably have not overtaken that unmarked R32 at speeds approaching three figures if I had! :(.

IMO the coppers went a bit ott on some bikers. Like the foreign fella with no plate. Could of let him ride to halfrauds for a plate. And the push bike fella only doing wot 99.9% of cyclists do anyway at the traffic lights. I also liked the way the copper thought it was safer for a car to travel without lights!!! Not for a pedestrian crossing the road it isn't.

Although if they really want you to stop they will just call for backup and by then you'll have lost any chance of talking your way out of it.

The tos"ser on the bicycyle deserves that hugh fine he got though. What an idiot. No, with that attitude I think you're the "tos"ser ". The only thing he did really wrong was fail to respect the Police when they stopped him. As he said that should not be an offence. Well you may think I am, but I still reckon he is. He was being disrespectful from the onset and insulting the polices job saying they have nothing better to do. All they were doing were looking out for his safety, and he threw it back in their face. He would have got nothing but a slap on the wrist, but talked himself into a huge fine.

On paper it may seem unmerited, but I'm not gonna sympathise with the guy. He came off as an arrogant, disrespectul little tool.

Also he hit a red, didn't have reflectors, and didn't stop straight away - all of which they were probably going to overlook had he not been such a tw*t.

It was the courts decision on the amount of the fine, not the police... they just issued him the summons for it!
Agreed he was a bit of a **** and should have just said yep ok fair enough!
Before i passed my bike test i used to cycle to work and back everyday and even with lights on i swear some other road users are completly oblivious/ignorant to the fact your there! i have ended up on the bonnet of a car even with 2 sets of front lights AND a high vis jacket on!
IMO they were completly justified to stop him!

I was once unfortunate enough to hit a cyclist who ran a red light at night with no lights. I never saw him, or stood a chance. He was in fact a young lad aged about 14 at about 1.00am.

Firstly I was stone cold sober. I knew I had to drive and therefore had not touched a drop.

I checked him over at the side of the road. (I know perv). Got his name, age, address etc and realising it was about a mile away, put his bike in the back, him in the passenger seat and took him home.

I had to knock up his parent who "thought" he was in bed. Had a right rant at them for letting him out at that time of night with no lights or the sense to think if his light is red somebody elses might just be green.

I sent them the bill for my o/s wing and bonnet replacing, nasty solicitors letters etc. but being scroat parents they simply ignored it.

Therefore. I was more than pleased when the idiot failed the attitude test and opted for court rather than a fixed penalty that the magistrates decided that he should pay the penalty for messing everyone about.

As for the rest of the program, sorry it was prejudicial coppers versus kn0b head bikers. agree though the lad who's plate had bust, they were being a tad petty. Far easier to tell him to replace it when he got to Brighton

You're right, it should not be, and is not an offence.

Running a red light is an offence.

Riding on the pavement is an offence.

Having no rear reflector is an offence.

Having no lights (when required) is an offence.

Failing to stop when ordered by the police is an offence.

I got the impression at the start that they just wanted to chat to him about running the red, and ask him to walk his bike.

The cyclist came across as an arrogant t*sser though. He refused to accept that anything they said was true, even though we, the viewing audience saw it all. The police then could not deal with it any other way because he lied and refused to admit he'd done anything wrong.

IMO, he brought it on himself.
