yeah my dad has two yamaha gp 1300R's - they are like rockets the speed and acceleration on them is nuts, only been on them a few times but loads of fun doing 360's and going airbourne over a few waves, almost got one to top speed over a calm reef was a bit scary doing 65mph on water, he has taken out the cats to make them a bit faster - bear in mind he lives in trinidad so its nice and warm, cant see me going anywhere near the water over here its to dam cold

Ive always wanted one and should have bought one years ago, i bought a boat about 10 years ago and should have got a jetbike instead.

Been on loads of them, best one was in an inlet off st petes beach in florida, about 5ft deep, dead calm, doing 50mph with the wife on the back then a school (?) of dolphins was swimming by us, so cut the engine and just floated about 5 ft away, truly amazing time, they hung around fro quite a while.

Later in the week we went on a dolphin watch cruise and didnt see 1 single dolphin, but they did give us our money back ;)

I used to have a proper 'jetski' - a kawasaki 550sx with a load of mods - blue printed engine, polished stainless impeller, deeper polished scoop grate blah blah - looked similar to this:-

Got to learn a few tricks - submarines, tailstands. 180s etc - never quite got the hang of backwoods barefoot skiing off the front of it though

Did a few demo days for Kawasaki - great fun scaring the sh!t out of people on the back of them. Also got to do a couple of days at Thorpe Park with Scott 'Hollywood' Watkins and Larry Rippenkroeger - you have probably never heard of them, however they were both world champion jet skiiers and did the stunts for Water World, Die Hard 4 etc.

Sold my ski about 15 years ago after having had the engine rebuilt for the second time - would love to have another one though.

Yeah, another "proper jetski " former owner ( must be getting on for 15 years now ) ... never have, and never will find anything that I loved doing so much.
Sold my ski when all the sit downs started to arrive, anyone with no skill could ride across a lake at 50mph ... lethal - at least with a stand up you needed some skills to ride it, but ended up having to constantly look about for all the kids riding daddys new toy, showing off to mates not looking where they were going to enjoy my own riding - the sport was taken over by rich people when it became a fashion item ( not everyone - but many ) and the enthusiasts who were in it for the sport and the fun just drifted away ... shame, was a great cheap enthusiasts sport when if first started, with a great cameraderie ... and yes, I could backwards barefoot off the front - even got some video of me doing it one handed ... ;oP Rippenkreoger ... my hero, and what about Jammin Jeff Jacobs, or Dave Gordon .. ... ;o) remember this ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9_CFpXAgxE&feature=related

or this ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmO-PWjmFxg&feature=related Glory days ..

Yup I had my fair share of stand up (proper jetskis) Kawasaki JS550SX, 650 and a 750SXi super memories and I even went to the world finals in Lake Havasu Arizona twice. Just to spectate, not compete. Been on the bikes a few years but have promised my son when he starts school I will get a jetski again. He is nearly 3, so not long......
