Who wants a cheap pointy SV then? Commuter? Winter Hack? First bike on a budget? Restoration project? Track bike? Minitwin?
SOLD
Can trade it in for that much when I find the right bike for me in a dealer, and that's a completely zero hassle transaction, so I just don't need to let it go for less than that.
SV650S K6 bought new by me in May 2006.
23479 miles
MOT until 21st May 2011
Tax until end Feb 2011
Service History:

Sept 2006 @ 4056 miles - Suzuki Main Dealer
Feb 2007 @ 7058 miles - Suzuki Main Dealer
Feb 2008 @ 11573 miles - Suzuki Main Dealer
Oct 2008 @ 15500 miles - Suzuki Main Dealer
Aug 2009 @ 19747 miles - Serviced by me with receipts for parts used available
Needs a service now
Rear shock was changed at the last service with a fully adjustable unit from a low mileage 09 plate ZX10-R which is a significant upgrade on the standard unit. This means the battery tray has been cut and the battery lifted on a foam block. Front springs were replaced with upgraded 0.95 linear springs from K-Tech and new 15wt fork oil.
Chain and sprockets also changed at last service with D.I.D X-Ring Gold.
The bike is mechanically completely sound and has been very reliable.
The bad bits:
Cosmetic bumps and scrapes, seen in photo's, ie: the scrape and crack to the nose fairing, small dents in the tank and chips to the front wheel
Some shading in the red paintwork which can only be seen in broad daylight and if pointed out. Due to a couple of red panels from a K5.
Usual flaking of engine paint on SV's that have been used in winter
You will need a new set of tyres very shortly so budget £160 for this.
The bike has done high mileage compared to some other bikes that do a couple of thousand miles a year and are only ridden on sunny Sundays, but the mileage is nothing for this bulletproof engine, there have been SV650's on this forum with 80,000+ miles on the clock.
The bike has been repaired after an one proper accident, and a couple of low speed drops, but this was all cosmetic, everything that should be straight is straight and the bike handles better than new with decent suspendies.
Pillion seat has a small 1 inch tear, but a new one is 15 squid on fleabay and the bike comes with a solo seat cover.
All the history you could want on this bike is right here on the forum, go do a search. Can't say fairer than that.
Will make a perfect bike for someone on a budget who just needs a reliable bike, as a first bike that is going to get dropped anyway, as a commuter, or as a winter hack to protect your pride and joy from the winter salt.
If you are looking for a bike to admire and polish, this is not for you unless you are looking for a restoration project (it would need a respray, engine paint and some touching up to get it looking brand new again).
Viewing is welcome by arrangement, the bike is near Kettering in Northamptonshire. Test rides available if asking price is left as a deposit in cash, if you damage the bike you have bought it and forfeit that deposit.
I can deliver within 150 miles of Kettering at cost of travel to be agreed with the buyer (train tickets, etc).
Sold it last week on fleabay for £1659, but the flea that bid on it then realised he didn't actually have the money and backed out. I've been offered £1500 trade in value by a dealer. Glass's guide trade in value for an 06 plate with 11k miles is £2400.
