Any chance you could have left them inside your car? Might be worth a crow bar attempt. Imagine forking out £100+ to find them sitting in there once you open the door.

edit: Incidentally when I was 17 I locked the keys to my corsa inside. Rang RAC, then did exactly the same thing a couple of hours later:confused:. I thought second time phoning the RAC, they'd think I was having a laugh. They came out anyway.

Flamin heck, I wouldn't even think of looking somewhere like that. How did it sneak in there? Your keys got legs if its own.

A key story.

I went to a wedding in Postcombe near Oxford. I always carry my car keys on my belt loop as not to loose them. anway, they kept interfearing with the seat i was sitting on so took them off. I left them on the table as i knew the peole and wandered off with my mate. Anyway about an hour later i went to get something out of the car. No keys, worried, i then remembered that they were on the table...wrong, no were to be seen. Check with staff, nothing! Bugger. Astra has dealocks so no way of flicking the lock etc. Phone AA. Wont come out as it may not be my car. RAC the same. Work out that the firends ont he table accidently took my keys home with them. Couldnt get hold of them, so only one thing to do, borrow mates merc, and drive home to Bromely to collect spare keys which i did, then drove home. Then had to meet mates half way on the sunday to collect keys! Not happy, but funny all the same!

They are pretty comfy, they flatten out nearly all the way at the touch of a button :)

Was that £145 for a new key just because you have lost the origional?

How much is it for a copy to be made? I ask as I only have one key for my new Bora.

tactcom7
13-10-10, 09:01 PM
I'm not sure although I am going to see about getting a copy tomorrow so I'll let you know if you like bud.

It is a transponder key plus remote central locking so that might be why it is so dear.

Yer looks like the same key as I have got, let me know how you get on, cheers.

tactcom7
14-10-10, 05:28 PM
Well timpson said they might be able to do it for £60 without the remote central locking bit and that I should take a drive over.

So I drove to Sheffield to be told they couldn't do it till 2pm (this was at 12pm) as they needed to have at least 3 people in the shop. On top of that they didn't so a version without the remote bit so cheapest they could do was £125.

NTH bud.

My guess is someone at the party didn't want to run the risk of pulling your keys from the bowl. They probably took the out and hid them whilst no one was looking.

The thought had crossed my mind, perhaps I'll wear some sort of mask next time.
