I found a video of a Homopolar motor. The kids loved it, so we made one!
I haven't looked at how they work, but they just shouldn't! It's just a few magnets, a battery and some copper wire.

All down to stuff like flemming's left hand rule of current flowing in a magnetic field etc. (I Think)

:D made one
It's cool lol. I made it out of solderwire so it's really lightweight but it went so fast it kept falling off, so made some "arms" to guide it round the battery
