Has anyone used this website to sell their bike?
I have just used the instant qoute service for a qoute on my bike and it came back with an offer of £3058 cash with collection within 48hrs.
I have my bike up for sale at £3500 privately with a few extras which I could take off and sell for more than the difference, so I'm incredibly tempted.
Anyone got any horror stories or good stories about them?
Thanks

they wont give you the price they quote, they ill find something wrong with it, I read online about somebody taking a brand new audi down to webuyanycar and they said the car had been resprayed so they wanted 4k off.
Loads of similar reviews online
I used webuyanycar.com to get a quote on my car and they offered 1/3rd of the value... which is how they make their money. I'd presume its similar with the bikes.
I'd take that to mean you have your bike up for sale too cheaply :)

I've heard mixed reviews, thats why I want 'actual' experiences not 'what my mate told me' or 'I read this'
I've heard lots of people moaning about crap valuations, but I have also heard rumors of lots of people saying the accepted the offer and they came and collected within 24hrs with no problems at all.
I've never heard anything from the horse mouth other than valuations they are not happy with, which I have not really had.

It is up cheaply because winter is coming and I want a really quick sale as I have my eye on two bikes for sale elsewhere.
The trade in value for my bikes age and condition is £4400 on Parkers Guide for good condition, not excelent which is what I would class mine as.
Part Ex price is listed as £3750 but I can't find a dealer that has the bike I want. The bikes always seem to be on a sale or return agreement so the dealers don't technically own them.
So they are offering you about £1400 less than the bike is worth? Nor a good deal really.
You'd get a better deal than that just putting it on Ebay and it'd be sold within the week.
Which bike is it?

I sold a pickup truck for £1000 MORE than I bought it for to WBAC.com, they only took off for two small dints I had failed to mention on the online quote, I watched him add them on and it was no different to me doing it online.
I cannot recommend them high enough in my limited experience,
this was the Colchester Branch.

The bike is my 2006 (56 plate) CBR. The problem is a bike is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and it's now pretty much winter. I could potentially still have it in 6 months time until winter is over, and it will have depreciated more, have more miles on it and VAT will have gone up on dealer bikes etc.
It's that trade off between the hassle and nominal amount of money.
I have priced it pretty much as the cheapest bikes on biketrader, you can buy a low mile 2003 cbr600rr for around £3000 - £3500. 2006 bikes are mainly listed at around £4500+. I know its not showroom condition, it has 9500 miles on the clock, but it is in good condition.

Cheers, I don't think webuyanybike.com is in anyway linked to webuyanybike.com though. They don't seem to be linked website wise.

"Webuyanybike.com gave you a quote of £1854 (this is valid for today) for your TRIUMPH DAYTONA 600"
Yeah right....
We buy any bike? Lies! Wouldn't give us a quote...too many miles on the clock no doubt. Not that we intend to sell anyway! :p

Well I certainly wouldn't put in all those details into a website, just for a quote.
Think I'll leave my bikes safely in the shed where they belong!
I know someone who took their car to the anycar.com place and they offered them a couple of hundred quid, he laughed, went away and sold it privately for what it was worth......much much more.

Once got a quote of £2300 for my old car, it was in good condition but when I took it down there the guy went round it with the pickyness of a rolls royce owners club supreme high chief of quality. Took money off for things like it having chips on the front end (despite the fact it was 8 years old) Said it needed a full respray etc etc etc blah blah blah. Offered me £1050 in the end, needless to say I told them where to shove it......

oh yeah and they usually want to charge you an administraton fee for the privilege of them buying your car/bike?!?!
For a laugh I've just put the Bimota (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=158627) through their site.
An immaculate 1800 mile Bimota BB1 Biposto.
Anyone want to guess what they offered me for it?

OP - If thats all you want for it i'd say take it down and see what happens. You don't have to sell it to them! Then get all the bits on ebay or a honda site.
£1194. Or a third of its value!
Oh! I should take their arm off! ... and beat them stupid with the raggy stump!

I can confirm to the best of my knowledge and belief that the bike has not been an insurance write-off or involved in any other accident or theft that required substantial repairs or is currently or previously on any insurance register.
That's me screwed then since there's road rash on the nose cowl and the bike's got K5 panels on it.

£3450 for a street triple worth ~6k
Shall I take it?
They presumably want what they think they can move quickly and the offer price reflects this. None of which helps the OP. I'd try a classified ad on Ebay too.
I had a 206 gti that had been run over by a tractor and repaired so could accept the money off for the respray. However, I didn't make a sound about the suspension that would need replacing after about 200 miles and the fact that it had been drying out for a few days having decided that its water seals would no longer work, plus the mailfunctioning cd multi changer. Oh, and the touch up paint job I'd done when someone kindly keyed my wheel arches.
Took it down in the dark and they only took £200 off initial offer which was already £1,000 more than I was offered for part exchange and the total was well in excess of anything I would have got if sold privately less costs to repair.
That's essentially what paid for the bike!

I think this is ultimately the case.
I've removed the private plate and put it back to completely standard now and re advertised at £3400. I'll give it two weeks or so and see how it goes before trying these guys.
I went to a couple of dealers today and both offered me £3200, which to be honest I would be happy with.
I need to wait for the DVLA to send my stuff back from taking the private plate off then I'll likely go for this option.
If anyone else would like the bike for £3200 before it goes off to a dealer then please get in touch.

It's not them that's mad!
By the way I traded it in for £4000 in the end, I think I was very lucky to get £4k so smiling like an idiot.
Edit: WBAB.com keep e-mailing now despite me saying I'm not interested.

I think the black or white are FAR nicer than the red, but then, I don't like red!
Spiersy may be up for a bodywork swap, anyway! :p

That that really baff advert with the women who get through her whole script in about 1.5secs. She's sat in a mini cooper whilst her husband is getting phone raped trying to find out if the price is right.

I sold my sv650 to webuyanybike.com so i could purchase my 1098s, they did what they said on the tin. They came the next day and collected the bike from my work and paid me in cash. No dramas, no haggling, driver was very polite and helpful offering advice on next bike purchase. I would recommend to anyone. Another £100 on their purchase price and i would have been over the moon.:):):):):takeabow::smt072:):):)
I can recommend that this astroturfing spambot be ignored.
One post, to promote a website that paying people to go say good things about them on the internet would be part of the business model.
Also that post on a 6-month old thread.
*reaches for HUGE pinch of salt*
However I do reserve the right to apologise to the poster if I ever get proved wrong. :smt040
