Dynamically they are quite poor, this is why they were slated so badly when they were launched. If you want a rag top that's fun to drive then look at the S2000 or the MX5, depending on your budget.

The S2000 definitely, but the MX5 only if you can afford the hairdressing course as well !!

They are fairly fugly unless your talking Z3M hardtop which I have a soft spot for. Failing that mx5 or s2000...z4 if the budget stretches that far.

Mother-in-law has one. The first owner put a shed load of Msport extras on it so it's 'M' badged. I think it's a 2.2 straight 6. Goes like stink but is was too cramped for me ( 6'2" and 15 stone). In it's 'M' form it's much more of a short journey and weekend toy. I have taken it out several times and enjoyed it a lot, had the traction control flashing more often than not :)
For the money I think its a good two seater, but I've only driven this one. Take a few out and see what you think.

Drives like a saloon, whereas the MX-5 drives like a slow sports car. S2000 is great if you love revving it to death.

Z4 is better, but MX5 is pretty hard to beat. Great cars.

The mk3 Toyota MR2 is a good compromise between the MX5 and the S2000, nicer looking than the MX5 imo, quicker too but not as mad as an S2000. sweet FA in terms of storage space, but mid engine, rear wheel drive makes it an absolute hoot to drive and really sticks to the road round the corners. not as common as the Mazdas either.

MR2 has no storage space whatsoever. MGTF is a good compromise, great boot for a little car, good handling, cracking engine (altho not a patch on an S2000).

Funnily enough I've got one for sale :D
