Sold mate's Thundercat on Ebay Friday night. Went for £1010.

The buyer has good feedback and looks like a trader as he has bought a few bikes recently so it was all looking good. However it is now Monday and we still haven't heard from him.

Now my mate's neighbour has offered to by the bike for a £1000 and he wants the cash in his hand as soon as possible so wants to sell it to him.

So if mate sells bike to neighbour where do I stand and more importantly could I claim back the £28 in Ebay fees.

I stupidly forgot to put any time limits on when payment needs to be received and when the bike needs to be collected.

I can't file a non paying bidder report till tomorrow.

Mate is getting impatient cause he needs the cash. What shall I do.

Thanks

Can you report the buyer to ebay, therefore explaining the situation and regaining your cash? Also why is your mate getting impatient with you when it's his bike. Your surely doing him a favour selling it.?

It was the weekend?

Hold up for a little while, file the non-payment report when ebay lets you, you really do need to play this one by the book if you don't want to get stuffed over.

Tell your mate to chill.

Can't report buyer till tomorrow, you have to wait 4 days before you can do that.

I have emailed buyer telling him there is another person offering cash and he needs to hurry up but no reply.

Mate is getting impatient because if he makes neighbour wait then he may buy another bike and if the person who won the auction is not going to pay it leaves him without a buyer.

call ebays helpline, explain to ebay that the seller has decided not to buy and they will refund your fees, done this several times.

The bloke was sat in front of his computer making the snipe bid a minute before the auction ended. Surely he could have replied to the email I sent him 2 mins after the auction ended.

Looking at his feedback he has also won other auctions on Friday and paid for them.

Sorry i assumed you meant he was getting impatient with you :P

In that case just to cover yourself i'd report him tomorrow. Like anything get straight onto it mate. Not worth ever risking money.

Not necessarily, some of the snipe tools, will work without you being in front of your PC. Some of them dont even require you to be logged onto ebay or even your PC powered on.

I'd give the chap time to pay personally. There may be a valid reason he hasnt paid for it yet.

Yep, I can set mine to bid when I'm away and not on my home PC

A human can't bid as quick.

Cheating I know, but the seller gets more dosh at the end of the day.

Also useful if you work away from home and desperately want or need something, without internet access, or if you're a bit forgetful

If he's a trader perhaps he's travelling round collecting bikes he's won and doesn't have internet access

Never thought of sniper software.

Just got a message from the buyer, panic over.

Thanks for the advice
