Does anybody fancy trying again? Any suggestions for a date ? Chances of a dry Sunday between now and end of the year?

The last run was a bit undersubscribed but was enjoyed by all those that attended and we managed 1/2 the proposed route, so why not try and see if we can go all the way!

All being well, I'd be up for this... Got a few busy weekends coming up, but if I can make it, I certainly will do...

Did you get tyres?

Yup, BT023's fitted. Did about 3 miles before I was knocked off! Bike should be back on the road tomorrow night so will be taking a gentle spin round EK to scrub them in tomorrow night so will know more about how they feel tomorrow.

I had a stab at a route. Start point for the Glasgow based posse is McD's in East Kilbride. Then we can meet/stop in Ayr or there abouts to chat/smoke/take a ****.

Please feel free to comment and amend

Route looks good to me:cool:.

But can I suggest from kirkcudbright ride to dalbeattie then upto Crocketford then upto Balmaclellan. The road from Crocketford to Balmaclellan is pretty good and a bit of a favourite of mine. Up side of loch ken is scenic but a little boring.

Please have a look at link, what do you think?

Only thing, that section of the A75 is incredibly boring and there is usually a good chance of traffic cops or scamera vans on it.

True, it's quite picturesque though and fairly easy going for a wee bit.

Only other option is the wee skittery back road between Creetown & Gatehouse, which having ridden it for a reccy a few months back, I can confirm is an appalling strip of road, more akin to a farm track in fact.

That's a very similar route to the one I organised on here a few months back and there are a few great bits of road on it indeed.

So who's meeting at McD's in EK at 8.30?

The half 7 rise doesn't seem so bad since we all get an extra hour in bed.

Almost wasn't gonna make it. Had to 95% dismantle the bike to fit a freaking headlight bulb. Give me back my Bandit! 3 screws and no bad words. Today was nearly 3 hours and a bucket load of sweary stuff. Made it, so looking good for a bit of a run tomorrow. Will have to bail out somewhere between Ayr and the next stop as have something on mid-afternoon.

Weather report not looking so good now but we'll see in the morning!

Will text weather report to the mobile numbers I have, by 8.30 (GMT)

I will be at Ayr @ Dobbies (on A70 just off Ayr Bypass, turn left at signs for Dumfries and its just on yer left), for 10.00 (GMT) in the morning, as for time thru newton stewart I would have to guestimate at about 11.30 - 12.00 (GMT) all being well.

Not so bright down here, roads are damp but it is not raining. Looks to be brightening up.

Might not be able to make Ayr for 10. if I am not there I will text you Weegie and will meet you at Carsphairn, about 20 miles down the A713. As you come down off the hills there is a community centre / public toilet just as you enter the village (can't miss) and I'll catch you there. Unless things change here and I can make it to Ayrr. Will definitely be there at 10.30.

It was RammyJammy's idea. Wait for you to head for home, then do it. :eye:.

Thanks for a good day out guys. Excellent roads down that way and we found a great wee coffee shop with a very homely feel and unlimited biscuits!

We knocked it off with the weather. Especially when you think what we had for the previous week!

It looks like that'll be my last decent ride of 2010, since I'm missing the Ice Cream run due to work. It was a good day out to finish an awesome biking 2010.
