My bike's in for the 12K service (only 2K miles late http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif ) and normally Wylies give me a POS T reg Dullsville as a loaner. I brought the 675 in last evening as I wouldn't have had the time this morning. But the bloke who had the Dullsville yesterday didn't come back before they closed at 6, so they were going to give me a CBR600RR, but the battery on that bike was flat, so I got their new Street demo. It has all of 32 miles on it, to include the 22 from the dealer back to my place http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

What a great bike this is http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif The engine was really tight and the tyres are new (of course) so I couldn't do what I might have liked to have done, suffice to say I helped them run it in a bit http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif Really flickable handling, and good suspendies. Even with a tight engine, it goes like stink. Having sat for years with my **** above my elbows, it took a bit of getting used to the riding position, but once I did this is one huge fun bike. Nice to be able to see something in the mirrors and to be able to do a meaningful shoulder check!!! Even wifey liked the bike, now that's saying something http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif I have to take it back Wednesday morning, I'm looking forward to the ride http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I must admit to being impressed with the Street R if a bit small compared to riding a fully faired. Still waiting for a go on the new Tiger which maybe the crossover between the Sprint and the Street.

Is yours the 'tona Ed?

There was a guy on I think www.street-triple.co.uk (http://www.street-triple.co.uk) who got the bit's from ebay so he could swap from a 'tona to street in about half an hour.

Yes, it is. That Street Triple is a really fine bike, the windblast all adds to the experience. I've not ridden a naked bike since I sold my Hornet in 2006.

How do you find the size Ed? Was looking at them a couple of weeks ago with my SV parked beside one and the Street seemed a bit smaller in comparison.

He he. It's on hold at the moment but will start again soon. Only need to do a few more bits. In reality it'll take a good few hours to switch between but I can't see me wanting to do it.

Great bike eh Ed. Do you think you'd have gone for that if it'd been out when you bought your Daytona?

Yes it is a physically small bike. It's one of my main gripes about my Daytona, it is on the small side. If you're out for a blast then fine as it makes the bike so light and so responsive but there is nowhere to put anything. It was a bit of a nuisance in France TBH. The Street is much the same size, and yes it will be smaller than a SV.

Definite maybe. The Street is a great bike, and at the time I bought the 675 I didn't do any long distance stuff. I'm planning another Alps trip next year so I don't think I'd buy one, as I love Triumph triples a Sprint or a Tiger would be more suited. Horses for courses:D Anyway I need a job before I can buy anything, I mean anything at all, even a can of beans:(

I fecking love naked sit up style bikes at the moment. I do like the street/speed triples, some ofthe limited models are great, there was a matte green one available not long back.

I will defo be getting a big engine naked bike at some point in the future.

I had one for a couple of hours when my sprint had its 500 mile service, i absolutely loved it, i adjusted the gear change lights so they wasnt on 5k ;)

It just loved to rev and did turn me into a hooligan, but what a brilliant bike, did seem small to me and it felt like i was over the front wheel.

G, i had a quick blast on mr speirs motard the other weekend, what a bike, me likey a lot , wouldnt mind an extended test ride on one.

Really want a go on one of these, 'Fast bikes' (for what it's worth) rated it top out of all the nakeds of that engine size they tested.
Take it they don't suffer from the same issues the 1050 engines seem to?

Its a different style of riding... So much fun even at low speeds. Sycamore ducati in uppingham is your best bet for extended rides. We had a 796 motard and big monster for a couple of hours. They were more than willing and covered the fuel for the day ha ha

Just from orose/bluefishman's experiences really (and others I've heard of).
I've not heard anything from street/daytona owners though.

My 1050 engine is superb (atm) its my rear brake thats sh1te, albiet i have it back now, fixed.
The 1050 engine is amazing imo, wish the throttle was a bit quicker though, have to twist it loads to make anything happen then it goes like a fat kid racing to an all you can eat buffett.
