are they too little to learn how to use a sponge and bike cleaning equipment?
if not, pout them to work for their pocket money, start by cleaning the bike and make is sparkle, then they can learn to use a spanner and fix all those little fiddly things you've probably been meaning to do for ages.

It is indeed horrible.

I am trying to work and keep getting "Granddad will you"

I blame their parents. They go off to work assuming somebody will look after their kids. How about they do it for a change.

I'm going to be honest though, I'm 15 minutes late every day anyway. So for me I'll just get to work earlier.

And I get a seat on the train and the bus isn't full of annoying teeneage girls who use the word 'like' every three words of every sentence.

I'm having a great half-term with the kids...

Tobboggoning(sp?) yesterday and Chislehurst Caves today.

Tomorrow I shall be going to HMS Belfast.

Much better than the 6 weeks holiday!

Took the kids to see 'Dispicable me' this afternoon, thoroughly enjoyed it, although it was a bit slow going at the start.

Especially as it is such a horrible day outside

Exactly - journeys the last two days have, nearly, been a pleasure, and that's despite being in one of those vile boxes with too many wheels.

So you get to work earlier...

Brilliant.
Or you stay in bed longer - your choice I s'pose.

Just got back from Ireland. Cracking start to half term. Plenty of drinking, a bit of history sightseeing and a bit of banter with the mates.

Now just a matter of the mountain of work I have to do by monday...

Someone remind me why I can't take a gap year?

My gap year is still ongoing, 9 years later!
