Had it a week or so, so haven't really ridden it much. Tyres are properly squared so need to get a new set.

Yeah, bought it privately. Bloke had only done 2350miles in 3 years!

Nope, none at all. The standard can is perfect in my opinion and also very loud. The bike is already sorted as it is!

Looks nice that :p I like the standard can on that year of GSXR, sounds the nuts too... DMC's lazer is nice as well though and probably the only aftermarket can I would go for.

I wouldnt G, its built really crap, twice the box underneath has separated from the pipe (weld fail).

I actually had a bloke come up to me at a BP garage today asking me what brand can I have on the bike. He was very shocked when I said it's the standard one...he rides a K4 750, and couldn't believe that my can was standard as it's pretty damn loud!

You should have brought DMC's 600.

It's not a fast as an SV, but still OK i guess.

Why? This one wasn't much more than DMC's 600, has significantly less miles and has the more tractable engine, as in you don't need to keep the revs up. Plus a 600 is more to insure.

Gorgeous bike, love the paint job too!

I wouldn't change a thing either to be honest

Because it's DMC's? :thumright:

Why is it that a 600 is more to insure? Surely a 750 is more desirable? Just asking...

No idea why, just the way all the quotes were working out. I can only assume people crash more 600s or something.

How much are you paying out of curiosity? And how old are you, you're a young ish lad too, no?

If you don't mind me asking, PM me if you like. Alternatively, tell me to sod off. :(

nice, im hoping to upgrade from my sv very soon to a gsxr 750. Just need some half decent weather to take one out for a test ride. How do you find the riding positon compared to the sv? As i find the sv quite comfy and some say the gsxr is comfy for a sports bike. Im 24 with 2yrs ncd (3 in a couple of months) and i got quoted £487 fully comp. Pay about £160 on my sv on a 53plate

I'm quite a bit over six foot, and actually more comfortable on the 750 than I ever was on the SV. My year has adjustable pegs which helps, but it was comfortable even on highest setting.

Thats interesting, i briefly rode a 600 gixxer and it felt like i was on a bike 2 sizes too small, my knees felt like they were up by my ears, im 6'1".

Well i couldnt stop myself and today i test rode a 750 (60 plate) as they have £2000 off and 2% Finance if i dont use my savings and pay in full, They also have a pre reg one that they said they would knock another £500 and throw in a free 1st service it has 2 miles on it so not a Demo. Found it rather comfortable compared to what i was expecting, not sure if the pegs are adjustable or not..Im also just over 6ft and didnt really notice a great deal between the SV...

Must be the leg/body ratio. My knees fit in the tank groove things just fine. I'm 6' 4" ish. It feels a bit smaller because the front is lower, but that's about all. Legs are perfectly comfortable.

It also surprised me how comfortable they are. I thought it would be crippling and thought because of my height I would need a sit-up-and-beg bike, but luckily I do not!

The new ones also have adjustable pegs. You can move the pegs up/down or forward/backward by about 15mm. Doesn't sound a lot but you can notice the difference.

That looks bloody awful. I'll give you a fiver to take it off your hands and that's cutting my own throat...

Jealous, me? Never:D
Looks perfect mate, did something similar 5 years ago when I bought my 2001 ZX6R with 2950 miles on it after 4 years  mine is in the garage at the moment being tidied up as a 60,000 mile birthday present :)

You are very unlikely to regret this decision:D

Heya, congrats on your purchase.

i too found ss600 to be more expensive to insure. When i borught the bike last year i was also looking at 600s and they were regularly £500 more than the 750.

Ive just riden mine to greece and it was a great bike for it, returning as much as 169.0 miles from a tank before the light flashing on a non stop run.

HAve fun.

Enjoy, I'll be a bit sad to sell mine (likely move on the cards).
