I got a 3 in to 1 scart adaptor (unswitched), plugged the sky, xbox and DVD in to it, then in to the tv, but I don't get any sound

I've only got the sky turned on, but the only way to get the sound on is to unplug the xbox and DVD.

Why does this happen? and is there a way around it?

What I'm trying to do is get all the scart leads plugged in to the tv, and an output yellow component cable for the projector. And I also need an audio output from everything, to put through the amp and speakers.

Is that possible?

Make sure all the scarts are in properly, I've had this and found a loose scart.

Make sure none of the connecting pins are bent either

you should be able to feed your amp via the digital out of the xbox , dvd and possibly the sky box. It will either use a optical or coax digital out or both. The on your amp you will select the relevant input to match the device.

this is caused by manufs not folowing the scart spec properly and/or the scart cables not being fully wired up, somtimes swapping the plugs around sort its out due to setting the priorities diffrently

All the scart plugs are in right and the pins look ok. I tried swapping the scarts on the 3-1 adaptor but it didnt make any difference.

Yeh Andy only two scart sockets on the tv unfortunately. No component inputs.

So how so you know if the scart multi plugs are good ones or not?

Have you tried swapping the scart leads about, rather than just around the 3-1 adaptor, just in case one cable is dodgy?

Sorry if you've already tried this

Yeh tried that.

Went to maplin today and got this
http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=33143

It means I can have everything going in to it, and watch different things at the same time on the tv and projector. Also means all the audio from everything can go to the amp :D

Just need to get a really long composite video cable so I can put the projector in the right place. And I need to get a projector screen. I wanted to get one today but nobody seems to keep screens in stock anywhere

Maplins always have great gadgets that no one else seems to have for solving problems like this
