Hi,
Have gone for a Triumph sprint st1050 ABS , was a really hard decision as loved the sv , bought new for 3500 , kept for almost 5 years with no major problems and 55 k happy miles , part'x for 1100 so did not owe me nothing .
However for a while have really fancied a change , always fancied a triumph and wanted something that covered the miles better with a pillion and fitted me better than the sv
Gone for a Triumph sprint 1050 ST
05 reg
7200 miles

From dealer so with warranty
Cost 4000 , cost to change 2900
Bike has had a slow drop with just scratches to LHS Lower , but thought for the price was still a bargain
I am not known for keeping a bike clean so scratches don't really bother me , might just put some touch up paint and keep an eye out for a ebay panel or might be lazy and put a union jack sticker :)

Nice bike mate. Better than the sv?
Very different to ride , pick up sprint on Tuesday and only done about 100 miles so far on test ride , but early impressions are very good , love the triple engine :) Still would not have a bad word sad about the sv and if I had the spare cash would have loved to keep the sv aswell and run round the clock as was confident it would have

Is that a different bike to your SV, Steve, or have you just cleaned it? :p
Hope your new bike gives the same stirling service :D
Hi Pete
Still have not cleaned sv ...
The triumph won't stay clean for long trust me :) as soon as I pick it up it will be covered in ACF50 and then used as per sv
I am gutted letting the sv go , as most reliable and cheap bike I've ever owned , but looking forward to a change and the sprint ticks a lot more boxes for my use
Will need alot more restraint on the sprint
Say Hi to Lisa
Cheers Steveg
Very, very, very nice bike - and that is actually a very nice shade of red too, although I daresay it looks better in the flesh!

Red fairing panel on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRIUMPH-SPRINT-ST1050-LH-FAIRING-PANEL-/220691429258?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item33623bf78a)
Cheers ,it says its for a non ABS model ?
As mine is a ABS not sure it will fit ? EDIT I'm guessing its just that ABS sticker is missing ?
Also not sure if its the right red ? Looks line "tornado red" off the later model rather than "sunset red "
Will ask seller some questions ,
Good to see that some fairing panels do come up on ebay :)
Thanks for the heads-up :)

No problemo , i keep my eye out for cheap spares, just in case, so will keep an eye out for you as well :p
Was it LH ?
Hi
Yep it was LHS , thanks
Might buy some Triumph touch paint as a quick fix and keep my eyes out for a spare , I tend to collect spares as well have loads of fairing panels and exhausts etc for bikes that I have owned :)
Cheers Steveg

A useful link for Triumph queries Parts Locator--World of Triumph.
You can check part numbers against the different models if that helps.
I wouldn't imagine that ABS or Non ABS would be any different with regard to side panels for a compatible model

Other than the lower panels for older ABS models (pre 2009 I think) had "ABS" on them

The only reason for different panels, one would imagine, would be the siting of the ABS unit which dependant on that or movement of some other component to facilitate positioning of ABS unit. So where is the ABS unit on your bike Steve, or other other owners? You might find the non ABS panel won't clear the Unit or additional pipework. Or I could be talking Bollox as usual! :D

UUUUUhhhh... REALLY nice bike!! Hope you and her rake up many happy miles. I'm also saving up for a tiger / sprint st (to be decided upon ride, but most likely tiger) cometh spring
Not from around your part of the world, but still love the way triumphs purr and look.
Oh, and congrats on going for the ABS model. Hope you never get into the type of situation where it might be of use, but it's good to know you get an aid if required
