I have a 2006 SV650S and I am planning for a valve adjustment this winter. I have done this type of work my car before, but not sure how much different it's gonna be on my SV650S. Does anyone have timing marks location or a repair book with the info on it? Is there anyone make a slightly more aggressive cam for SV650S? Any step by step instructions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks..

Checking is pretty easy, adjustment is a bit more involved. You can download manuals for nothing. You don't really need timing marks, just eyeball the cams to make sure the lobes are pointing away from the valves when you measure, it's all in the manual anyway. If you do ned to adjust then it means taking the cams out and waiting for the local bike shop to get the required shims in, so allow a week of the bike doing nothing for this. Also search "cam swap" on here or svrider.com for tuning info

I bet you 10p they don't need done, SVs very rarely do (I changed the cams in mine and they still didn't need done, now that's tolerancing) If it needs done, it's not hard, it's shim-under bucket so cams out, buckets out, shim out, replace shim with new shim, rebuild.
As for hotter cams, yes there are but the pointy already got hotter cams over the curvy (based on, if not exactly the same as the yoshi stage 2 cams). For the curvy, the cool swap is pointy intake cams in the intake side and curvy intake cams in the exhaust side. I guess you could drop some curvy intakes into your exhaust side, but less people do it on the pointy.
