Am at Cosford (near Wolvo) on the train - looking out at the runway at RAF Cosford. Would love to let rip on there on the 675. Anyone know if the RAF - or any other airfield - allow it?

Don't know but last year the Warwickshire Air Ambulance had a charity ride which stopped off at RAF Bruntingthorpe where you could have as many goes down the runway as you wanted!!! Got the 749 up to 161mph.

There quite a few track days that happen at RAF bases, one in particular uses a taxi way that's pretty much the entire length runway as the straight. Think it's RAF Waddington.

Bruntingthorpe... 2 miles straight. Speirs and Pete&Lissa did a runway event thing there and dairly easily Vmax'ed their bikes from what I understand. It's not an everyday thing but theres a few events run out of there that aloow you to do it.

Edit: Damn... to slow lol.

RAF Northolt have run track day type events through their own bike club.
It's not happening this year though - FG1 knows more

Sprints use current & disused strips - well 1/4mile plus run off. Bit end of seasonish though. Vintage Motorcyle club (?) will have to look up are a good day out. Modern stuff and specials show up but there's a lot of facinating ancient motors. Last time I was there some bloke on a turboed Norton was embarassing a lot of the 21st century.

My ex-girlfriend did run my old Fireblade flat out down the runway at RAF Cottesmore when she owned it, but she's in the RAF and stationed there so it's easier for her to access it.

I'm sure the drag strip run what you brung days might be up your street... Santa Pod do them for certain, and I'm sure your local strip probably does the same.
