...for the gym...
Listening to Cheryl F*****G Cole twice in the same session on Monday pushed me enough to go about getting some suitable phones and bringing my own entertainment
Currently got Hadouken! with "For the Masses" and "Music for an Accelerated Culture" - gets the beat going and the mind in the right mood, looking for similar - bonus points if you have the witty social commentary as well
What do you recommend (apart from any of the tunes from the Rocky movies of course...;))
Linkin park meteora alway works for me

Just got back from the gym and my current gym workout on MP3 includes Metallica (Enter Sandman and some others), loads of guns n` roses, loads of T Rex (born to boogie excellent :o)) Alabama 5, Alanis Morrisette... very varied mix but all stuff that makes you work harder.

My MP3 player is always crammed with Black Metal, bands such as Enslaved, Dissection, Emperor and Akercocke playing furiously makes energetic sports more fun due to the blast beats! I find that Slayer is great for mountain biking, although some of their slow tracks can add a second or two if you relax to much.
Loud, fast and aggressive is my recommendation! :D

I use my phone and hook up to the Last FM app. Internet radio service that effectively lets you have your own station. Type in a band you like and it will find songs to play from that band and others like it. Not only does it keep some of the tosh out of your head but also find bands you might not yet have heard of.

Sugarrrrrrrrrr ;)
linkin park and system of the down are all good listening material (dont get the lastest lp album saw them at the mem last week and its rubbish, old is good tho) however if your wanting to gym to it i find djformat if you cant beat them join them is a beauty. Not normally my cuppa but the beat throughout is consistant and i can ride a few mils more on my bike listening to that than anything else. go figure.

I love the album Toxicity but Sugar is definitely SOAD's best song for me.
Similar tunes to get your heart pumping for the gym... :-k
Disturbed's 'The Game' or 'Down With The Sickness'
Spineshank's 'Asthmatic'
American Head Charge's 'Reach And Touch'
The Distiller's 'Beat Your Heart Out'

"Stress" - Justice. The version from the "Across the Universe" album not the "Cross" album. This is my ultimate work-out song, I can be 10 miles into a run and dying, but if this comes on I can suddenly sprint for another mile
Most LCD Soundsystem. Maybe 'Yeah'

I am sure that there are many threads on here dedicated to this very subject...:)
The hits of Matt Munro is my fav for the gym.
Seriously, it all depends on your flavour of music. There are whey too many metal heads on here. Im more of a dance music person so thats what i listen too. When i used to 'gym' i made up an hour and 20 miute play lists at the right speeds. So, slowish stuff for warm up, then differnt stuff ofr the parts of the work out. I found it worked well and i changed them on a bi weekly basis as it gets boring.

Having sat in TLW's car for hours. I can say he has a very broad range of music.
My current tune of choice is High Violet by The National.
Its an aquired taste fo shizzle. If it doesnt lead you to wanting to end it all you can celebrate by doing another 20 sets and reps

If I did actually exercise, the closest I'd choose to dance music is old stuff like Leftfield, Prodigy

Since you're starting off from Prodigy and Hadouken, have some 65DOS and Pitchshifter...
