Ok, this is partly rant and partly asking for advice!
I bought a Sony ebook reader in the UK (I live in Sweden) last year, which set me back about 300 quid.
When I installed the sony software, it came up with Waterstones and WHsmith as potential e-book retailers. So I bought a few books from each and all was groovy. So, after a break of about 3 months (We got several consignments of real English books!) I tried, today, to download some new books.
It turns out that as a resident of Sweden, I can't buy ebooks from UK retailers any more. So I checked out some Swedish retailers and they only have a handfull of books in English, none of which I want.
So I've got a really sexy ebook reader but nothing to read on it!
Here comes the rant part: Sony you make me:puker:!
The reader registered itself on the UK sony website, so I go there to try and find out where I can buy books, they let me get ALL THE WAY through the time consuming "Support" process before telling me I have to go to the European website. I must admit I gave up. I can't imagine they'll in any way think it's anything to do with them anyway.
So I wonder, hypothetically, where would I be able to purchase illegal copies of e-books? I had a gander at Piratebay (for the first time, I might add!) but they have very few on offer.
Any ideas greatly appreciated!
Cheers
