View Full Version : Congratulations Ollie and Lou

It's now 10.25pm on Sunday evening, and as I type this Yorkshire leads Shropshire by 70 - 52. It's most unlikely that I will attract the 19 votes I need between now and 8.37am tomorrow morning - the close of the poll - and therefore I concede defeat.

Might I be the first to congratulate Ollie and Lou:D

I said that if I lost I wouldn't throw my toys out of the pram, and nor will I. But I'm naturally very disappointed:( especially after so much work in visiting the place 3 times, uploading all the pics to Photobucket, and writing a very long proposal, all incurring a great deal of wifely wrath over the amount of time it took. But it obviously wasn't sufficiently attractive, even with tea at my house, and beer at £2/pint:cool:

But hey ho, life's full of disappointments, and Shroppie will remain unspoilt:lol:

I can now let you into the secret - I had in mind a route to take us over the tops to the lovely model village at Portmeirion, on the stunning Lleyn peninsula.

Will look forward to pitching my tent in North Yorks next year:D

Hey Ed Just looked up Portmeirion on google maps to see what we'll all be missing. I see an "adrenaline addicts meeting place" next to the BNFL station, any ideas

Yeah, you go on a highwire over barrels of nuclear waste, only sometimes they cut the cable:D

Fair play... last weekend, I thought the same when it was about 40-20 in your favour. Don't throw it away though, as I'm sure it can all be resurrected for AR12.

60 miles from my front door, it will be difficult to find an excuse not to go next year.

Thanks for the hard work on your part Ed,

I'd agree with Orose and propose that your suggestion should be the AR12 site

Was about to propose that too, after all the hard work and time and effort that Ed has put into his proposal it would be rude not too, lets face it there weren't that many proposals this year so would next year be any different, perhaps a vote/ poll is called for.

Awww bless you Ed, I was pretty certain last week, that your proposal had sealed your fate, and you'd be the one getting the headache for AR11!! Two quid a pint and food on tap was fail proof!! I was so suprised to see the tide turn the other way.

I suppose this means I have to baby under the stairs and help Ollie then :)

It'll save time too, as Ed has already done the ground work

AR12?? - too kind!!! - But I think that's for next year, others might want to go someplace else, after all we've never been to Lincolnshire for example. And strange enough, I like the idea of the M25 tour:D

Lincolnshire, its very flat, that's why we've not been there :p

We could do a timed lap of the M25

Don't forget that someone offered to have the beers on their balcony, for the venue....might be a bit of a squeeze though

Now maybe if you'd mentioned that it could have swayed the end result! :p

I won't complain about it being in Yorkshire, I'll be along on my own bike for my first AR solo so the closer it is, the better really :-D

Would have saved all the organisation polls and such next year aye Quiff. Then we could have gone on it!
