Was a little apprehensive about booking a trackday outside of our supposed summer period but Mallory this saturday, what a day! Sun had his hat on and dried the early morning damp patches after the 1st session, only 2 groups and no more than 10 in my group so track all to yourself! I did 8 20mins or more sessions and could have done a couple more!

And for anyone whos not been to Mallory, I cant recommend it enough. Not too technical and you can really work on each section to put together a good lap. By the afternoon sessions I was catching and passing all but 1 of the track bikes. Also got the rear wheel in the air heavy braking and knee down into the hairpin :D

These are from Focused Events photographer, he was at both their days I went to. That last ones going as my desktop wallpaper :)

Not sure what camera he was using but he had a zoom lens as long as my arm!

Looking good. Sounds like a cracking day, especially with there only being about ten bikes in your group!

Mind you ten bikes at Mallory probably constitutes a crowded circuit.

Mallory. The Perfect track if you race on Country B roads!

Nice to see they organised a tractor and plough to drive round the circuit for full muddy effect!

Is that trough and polyfilla still on the racing line out of Goddards?

Love the irony that its the UK's carpest track surface yet the sponsor on the bridge is still for the resurfacing company!

Nice pics though!

It is a bit ooh arrrr rural isnt it! Coming out of Edwinas like in the pic, it was wet for the 1st session and had the back end squirming. Wasnt until it dried out I saw what was lurking at that corner!

Gerrards has the nice groove to go over still when on the correct line and some grass cuttings thrown in for good measure. Most disconcerting though was the ducks sat spectating at the exit of Gerrards :smt103 1 session had to be stopped so someone could go shew them back into the lake!

I really liked the place though, obviously cant compete facilities or pits wise with modern circuits but its a good, old fashioned British race track. Right down to the 3 little old ladies preparing the food in the cafe to complete the country bumpkin feel :)
