Hi, iv got a pointy 2004 sv650, it currently has an undertray (see bolow pic) tailtidy thing, but i want to take it off and put on the standard one as iv had a load of problems with the one thats on it.

can anyone tell me, if i buy a tailtidy which mainly look like a small bracket,
8188 do i need to buy another undertray. i cant make my mind up whether to get the original undertray/ number plate holder back on it or not.

what problems have you had with the one thats on there

ps you would need a stock one to fit that tail tidy pictured

ah right ok, thanks, well on occasions iv gone over a bump and its pulled the number plate off, its set back further than the original undertray. and because im a bit big for the bike at 6 foot 5 its running close to the tyre.

The only time i have heard on hear of the plate hitting the tyre is when the bike is lowered

Probably easiest to make a wedge to angle your plate up more.

is there any sort of legal issues with plates at non standard angles? Or as long as theyre readable from the required distance?

Just curious really.

Not the best of pictures these but I did the same as Mighty Boosh, just angled it upwards a bit. My undertray brings the plate closer to the bike, and with a pillion the plate did rub on certain (bumpy) roads. Never been pulled for it as is (or anything else for that matter).
