[QUOTE=Gabriel2k;2425067] didnt realise people in the army got so much leave[QUOTE]

People in the RAF however just have to turn up once in a while so they know they're still alive.

To all those who do not believe the tourism pulling power of the royals, try working in Windsor town centre. You cannot move each morning when they change the guard and popping out for a sandwich at lunchtime involves pushing through a never ending mass of (usually Japanese) people taking photographs. And when the yellow-crested flag flies over the castle to show Her Majesty is in residence it's even worse!

And don't get me started about the coaches that stop for several minutes on the Runneymede road so passengers can see up the Royal Mile to the castle (single carriageway, solid white lines, grrrrrr.......)!

not a royalist..

thery all German

No they aren't, Philip is Greek:lol:

and they wouldnt even be where they are if it werent for history and abdications ..

Yes they would. If Edward VIII hadn't abdicated, then because he and Wallis Simpson had no kids, his brother George should have become King on Edward's death in 1972. But of course George became George VI, and he died in 1952, so his (George's) elder daughter, Elizabeth, would have become Queen then. As it turns out, she became Queen 20 years earlier. But she still would have been Queen.

anyway .. for the country I am pleased.. it is the lift we need some pomp and circumstance and gold carriages and loads of money that we havent got wasted ..

We seem to have money to lend to Ireland. And maybe to the rest of the Eurozone too:rolleyes: I don't think that even a Royal wedding will cost £7bn...

but it will maybe bring revenue in from world interest and could be a profit maker..

BUT .. yep- she will be a replacement Diana.. espesh as she wearing her ring.. its a shame .. she seems nice

I think that they have moved on y'know...

So parliment have said it'll be a day off on April 29th then!

Does this mean the roads will be quiet and the road focussed plumbers will be down in the big smoke?

Out on the bike anyone?
