We celebrated our year anniversary on Sunday and I noticed on the way out that evening my wedding band has gone....

I had it Saturday evening and I know that for definite as I only take it off when dealing with cars / vans and I was servicing my dads van with him, I cleaned my hands and got back in my car.. put the ring back on and drove off..

Now it is Nowhere to be seen....

anyone finds it let me know

Gutted

Ah **** that must be a horrible feeling.

When I loose things that have been given to me as a gift, not matter how much I dislike the item, I am always very caring of it and if I loose something then I get pretty upset with myself.

I once lost a pair of black shorts my parents had bought me for a scout trip, i lost them without even wearing them, I felt that bad I cried for a week... that's how I roughly remember the story anyway.

Awww, that is poo for you. Have you traced your steps, checked the ubends anywhere you've had a shower or washed your hands, checked bedding and sofas?

the irony

On the plus side there is £25 excess on my insurance and they will cover it no questions asked..

Why didn't you just buy a pack of Haribo and use one of their gummy offerings?

Could have saved yourself twenty four quid.

Same here - although mine was a huge £75 as its solid titanium - couldn't see the point of a platinum one at uber-huge costs.

yea I think mine was just under £200 I wanted a nice one and was quite happy with titanium but liked the one I bought in the end...

Hey ho...

might be in the back of the washing machine somewhere!

Hope it turns up Alex, its bound too.

I don't wear mine out of habit, as I don't wear it at work for H&S reasons, although I do keep it safe somewhere, although I don't know exactly where at this precise moment

Sorry to here that Alex

As everyone's said it'll turn up!
I know a lot of people that don't wear them for fear of the finger being lobbed off.

Did your parents beat you that badly that you cried for a week? It was only a pair of shorts ffs.

I hook my engagement ring on one of the kitchen door handles when I wash up, had kittens when it wasn't in its usual place the other week. Peg found it in amongst the dishes in the sink, after searching all over the place...phew, thems expensive rocks to replace!

They are irreplaceable IMO. It will never be the same one you were given, Or am I a sentimental old fool?

Sorry to hear this mate, like other I hope it turns up :)

I'm currently mulling over wedding rings. I know I won't spend big money on mine as it's a case of the thought that counts. I'm considering titanium, as I can't afford enough to put in the bike, so may as well have a nice tough, light ring that I can keep on when working on the bike.

Not at all. I chose this one, and there is only one of them. You know what its like when you go rock hunting. Sure there are 'similar' ones, which are cheaper, but not like this one. If I lost this, I've lost the one thing that caused a very special day, I'll never forget it, but it'll never be the same if I lost the thing that made it so.:smt060

These suck too but you always end up chewing them.

FYI mine = £26 quid, titanium band (I'll be gutted if I ever loose it).

Hope it turns up.

I don't have a ring, the only jewellery I possess is a decent watch. The wife wanted me to have one I said no. Her rings cost a bleeding fortune, she had better not loose any of them.

Years ago when accosted by the Russian hookers in Dubai, I would say politely not interested and that I was married. Must would then say you have no ring, you are not married. They seemed to think a ring was obligatory.

There was a thing on Radio 1 a while back where one of the morning show guys had lost his on the beach on holiday in Florida. With the help of some locals, and I think an article in the local paper, it was found and returned to him. Hope you 're as lucky!

I'd be gutted if I lost mine- a replacement just wouldn't be the same.

Interesting how many have opted for titanium. Mine is tungsten carbide -incredibly hard (has had a lot of abuse over the last few years and not even a hint of a mark) and has a lot of mass. Three more of them might make for a good set of knuckle dusters :)

The only jewery I own or wear. I never take mine off.
If I were to quit wearing it now I think I might always have the indention of it on my finger.

I am gutted, during the wedding the rings are blessed, and that meant something to me,

The jewellers don't do the ring any more although there are some similar....I have looked and looked and looked but nada..

Quite lost as to what to do..?

stop looking for it but give yourself a time limit say a fortnight.
then decide what you are going to do - the more you look the less chance you'll find it as your searching will be frantic.

Had to do with the engagement ring last week - turned up once i stop looking but i hate that pit in your stomach feeling

Really hope you manage to find it - have you tried retracing your steps and looking everywhere that you went on Saturday? If it's any consolation, both of ours have done a wander on occasion in the past but they seem to have knack of turning up again.

Almost flushed mine down the loo once as well - close call!!

I've got a nice lump of titanium you can have James - currently in the shape of an elbow but surely you can melt it down. Listed on the medical bill at £1400 but you can have it for a Nero's latte and a packet of wine gums.

I bought Mr LPH platinum as being a bricklayer he needed something hardwearing. Cost me my annual bonus that year. And although I'd be gutted if he lost it - it's the marriage that counts not the symbol of it. Hope your one turns up though.

LOL, my ex partner chose a Tungsten one when we went to get commitment rings, years ago...bloody damn dangerous things! Well they do make darts out of the stuff, amongst others.

To add to the story the ring missed my face and smashed through a toughened carlsberg glass.

Lost my first one about 14 months after getting married. I was 180ft up a chimney stack in Ketton pulling a pump up on a rope..... rope pulled it on and down it went.....

The one I have now is much nicer - found it in an an antiques shop in the Cotswolds and Mrs Jabba bought it for me.

Like "Mr Numbers", I felt worse about losing the first one than Mrs Jabba did.

Man, I hate to be the pedant here but...

lose = To lose something i.e I am about to lose $50 on the horses

loose = The opposite of tight i.e Not from Yorkshire :smt064

Back on topic, sorry to hear about your ring- I'd be really bummed if I lost my ring. Luckily it is fairly tight and so the chances of it falling off are pretty slim.

Sorry to hear about your ring.

Re tungsten carbide- that's one of the materials that can be used in tools for milling and turning. Some useless information for you.
