Met with one of our competitors this afternoon to discuss a joint project for one of our customers. And at the end of the discussion he tells me they have a position in their Head office that is perfect for me...

"So we danced for a while," discussing the role and...

Stunned, still stunned. And flattered, excited and interested (I think). Totally stopped in my tracks.

Better terms and conditions? does the new job mean you don't have to do all that extra work for Q4?

Always a toughie to jump ship

Office based most of the time :(

Home pretty much every night :D

Better t & C's, more money, new challenge = they love the template/structure I've got in place with my current employer, which has been adopted globally.

52 yrs old, and thinking the whipper snappers were starting to pass me by and BANG! I still have something to offer in the job market.

At no time were pans and water involved. Nor were any animals or children injured.

Sound good. So you going to go for it then Bri?

52 is no way being past it in the jobs market IMO, that's 14 years of the benefit of somebody elses 35 years experience! How many company directors do you see in large organisations that are under 45-50 years of age? How many CEO's do you see that are under 50-55? A few, but not the majority.

I intend to express interest, and ask for a detailed spec. I also want to ask them how much freedom they would give me to create the structure I feel has lead to so much success where I currently work.

my current boss bought into what I wanted to achieve. and subsequently the structure I created has gone global. The loss of a supportive boss, who allows me so much freedom would be hard but I am getting bored.

The opportunity to move into what would be the equivalent position of my boss, with the chance of developing others and the power to really drive things is exciting.

and I guess a pay rise would be nice but it isn't the be all for me.
