Quick question re. paypal, I know they're crap but how easy is it for you to get ripped off as a seller? Some tail in portugal has bid on an item of mine despite me saying uk only. If I post it out there and he disputes it,is it still easy for him to take all the money and the item and do one?

Cheers!

I would go UK only, foreigners can do all the same dispute stuff as a local buyer. Only safe way is cash!

I didn't state it in the description (mistake I guess) but I specified "no international postage" in the listing options and when you view the listing it only displays postage to uk pricing. Reckon I can still cancel the bid and avoid bad feedback?

I know it's ****e!
I can't see a cancel bid option  Is this because he's already sent the payment via paypal? If I do a second chance offer reckon it'll cancel his bid?

You didn't say the auction had ended :(

I'm not sure now, personally I'd send him a message explaining the situation that you're not prepared to post overseas.

Then you refund him, and go into "unpaid item dispute", there is an option in there for "both parties decide not to complete the transaction" or something and that gets you out of paying the fee. I think you can go with second chance thing then too (or you actually might be able to start 2nd chance bit before "dispute")

Cheers

Feck knows what's going on now, I emailed the bloke , refunded him did a second chance offer to the second highest bidder and found I can't do a dispute for like 2 weeks with the original knob but found a handy cancel transaction button - think it needs his agreement though and I know he's going to be an arsh.

If he leaves you poor feedback, you can appeal to eghay.
Explain to them that it was a uk only sale and he's overseas so you cancelled his bid.
Strangely, eghay can be quite reasonable at times.

You (in portugal) bid on a UK only ebay listing,we mutually cancelled purchase!!

I've sent him a typical ebay type message explaining that he's a spineless chump. Made me feel moderately better. this was after I found a button that said "mutually remove feedback" which took me to a page explaining ebay have removed this function!

Not Honest Seller. I dont Recomend

Grounds for appeal there.

You are an honest seller, it was a UK sale only and he bid on something without reading the full listing.

Get onto ebay and get them to remove the feedback.

ffs jumped through hoops printing off, signing forms and sending them back to them and just read this "Please note that with a Notice of False and Defamatory content only the
comment from this feedback will be removed and not the rating, the
rating will remain on your account."

What's the point? It looks better with my honest response on the record rather than "comment removed".

set of ******s.
