Once again, Stewart and Wild Bill have saved the day.

The bike's been popping a fair bit on the overrun- initially thought to be due to one of the mix screws being seized, therefore not allowing the proper idle balance to be set.

However, it was getting worse and worse- awful backfiring on the over-run from 3.5k revs down to about 2.5 and my Bro spotted that it was blowing the occasional blue flame out of the exhaust (the bike was obviously confused- it's a Fuel exhaust ! :D)

Call up Stewart today and he advised probably an air leak- most likely the blanking cap. Would have looked at this yesterday, but the extra 2 hours spent resoldering and testing my Bro's ignition barrel/loom ate up the time (but that's a WHOOOOOOLE other story...!).

So- over to the workshop today and yes- as expected. A simple fix with a new blanking cap on the front Carb. and she was running much smoother

Muchas, muchas graçias to Stewart and Bill for the usual sterling service and saucy antics (!).

And much relieved me that I don't need to buy another set of carbs just yet as well...

Cool, what did you get that fixed for, people pay to have that done ;)

Lol! The sound it was making didn't sound very good for the bike (or the neighbours opinion of me!).

But it was like the back of the classic batmobile!!

Personally, I prefer my V-Twins to purr nicely!

It's also hard to concentrate on riding the bike when it's so much fun to make your exhaust shoot flames. Especially if you've a handy tunnel nearby.
