The last time we had really good snow this early in the year was 1978. We ended up being snowed in for three weeks on a farm in Northumberland and had to walk down a 14 ft snow drift from the bedroom to get out of the house.

Bring it on! :)

Dunnooo how much we'll get if at all. None has fallen here, but it bloody cold.
Peg had to go to a conference in Harrogate today, met colleagues at work for 7am....didn't take the zzr, went in our Landy.

The catch, the boss didn't use his brain, and have Peg take them in our car, they've gone in his ultra un-reliable Ford Dustbin, with knackered heaters, that failed it MoT when it suspension collapsed( I believe it was fixed though).... and its snowing up there!

So I expect him home late, cold and in a lot of pain, because he can't fit in a Ford Dustbin, and his knee will be giving him jip, along with that steel rod thats been playing up lately....grumpy Peg :(

yes, yes you are lol :D i dont get why you need a car license its a bike with 4 wheels END OF i could see the reasoning if it had a steering wheel and a gear stick with accelerator pedals but it doesn't doesn't does it

I'm praying for a grim winter. My contract is up at the end of January and I'm handling complaints about poor repairs/bad service in relation to car insurance. If the weather is grim, there'll be more bumps. More bumps means the garages will be swamped as will the customer services departments. That will generate more complaints, and my contract will get extended meaning I don't need to start touting for business just after Christmas.

SO SNOW, DAGNAMMIT!!

Bike = Accepted abreviation of bicycle, bi meaning 2. Cycle meaning cycle ta-da!
Seen as a quad is neither 2 wheeled or cycled then in fairness to catagorise it as a bicycle is about as in accurate as possible.
And before anyone questions that their motorbike isnt a cycle either, check your log book ;)

I do happen to agree with you though, its more motorbike than car in that you ride it not drive it
your on it not in it
they've handle bars not steering wheels,
they're for 1 or 2 persons never more

Thats about it I've run out of similarities lol.

Been snowing here, but because we're on the coast and we have our milder weather & fresh salty air it very very rarely lays. Was trying its hardest earlier but everywhere just looks like it's been raining. If you go about 10 miles in land then the snow lays nice as thickly. We're quite lucky I guess :D

"cant make ti today boss, the cars snowed in"
Then they hear a v-twin roar into life in the back ground...

Yeah a few people got a wee bit shafted last year as they used that excuse, yet I still got into work...

No snow in Manc land, just feckin' cold. I've had four days at work out on the job bike, plenty of layers, heated grips on full and it's been beautiful!

I had my picture taken loads of times at the student demo. Here's the only one I can find though!

Sometimes yes!

To be honest, the kit we have for the bikes, together with Marks and Spencers finest thermal undies makes even this mornings minus two celcius pleasent. However, it won't be long before the bikes go into the garage for good.

-3 this morning but no snow en-route to work.
-3 I've decided is past the convienient to use a bike for commuting barrier, and is firmly on the side of feckin dangerous. When your hands and feet are too cold to function its a bit of a pain trying to remain smooth when you keep hitting neautral or not loosing grip of the throttle enough so you keep jumping around on little blip bursts.

Desperatly need new gloves and boots. :(

LOL!
Neither you are wrong!
Just returned from a site visit 90mile round trip the vast majority of which was motorway. The prospect of doing this with the crappy gloves I rode to work on was too much, so I took a detour through hein gericke leeds (dont tell the boss). OMG! cant praise these gloves enough hands were comfy and warm even though it didnt really feel like I was wearing anything. Windproof, Waterproof and warm warm warm - £50 was a tough pill to swallow but now having done my trip and returned still with all feeling in my fingers they're worth a lot more than £50. Very very pleased... now if only Santa could bring me some warm boots as Im pretty sure my feet are solid ice atm.
