View Full Version : New Girlfriend - Christmas Present Ideas Please

Scoobs
26-11-10, 10:39 AM
Bit of a schoolboy error really. Should have waited until after Christmas before getting involved with a new girlfriend, but she couldn't wait..!?!

I would like to buy her something for Christmas so I'm throwing it open to the org for ideas.

The person who suggests the present I eventually buy will win public thanks and adoration from me.

Thinking caps on. Budget for about £100.

Thanks and love to all.

Perfume, Lingerie, i know they are cliches but always a good option

Swin
26-11-10, 10:51 AM
Perfume? Could be a bit difficult as you may not have got to know her too well yet and therefore don't know her tastes...

I bought my missus Daisy as one of her gifts this year, Perfume Store do a multi set dooberry for about 50 quid

Depending on how long you have been with her I wouldnt go spending too much or getting her anything too extravigant.

You know what she likes / what her interests are (if you have been listening to her :p ) so get her something along those lines

Problem is they're more than £100. Could start with some gloves though, and then say 'damn, they're useless without a lid but you need to buy one that fits you and you feel cofortable with'

You want something simple yet effective and with a wow factor that women love.

Tiffany & co do a few nice pendents for about £80 which will give you enough left over to buy a simple and nice plain silver chain to hang it on.

I dare any girl to not love a gift from Tiffany!!

Tell us a bit more about her Scoobs... what are her hobbies, what does she like, is she a girly girl, is she into nice clothes, shoes, accessories, does she like designer gear, are her ears pierced, what`s her job, does she visit beauticians, etc etc.

Would have loads of ideas but would need to know more about her.

Scoobs. I'm going to give you, IMO, the best gift idea ever.

Thomas Sabo

You can get her a few charms and a bracelet for £100. But wait when it comes time for her birthday you can get her another charm, then anniversary. It literally removes the need to have to think about special presents for the missus. Shhhh don't tell my missus my secret though.

I think lingerie's ok, as long as you keep the receipt so she can swap it. I'd love it if I got that as a present #HINTHINT YC# as means I don't have to spend my own dollar :-P

I think jewelery is a bit sketchy, she might not even like it much. Why don't you just surprise her with a nice meal somewhere? it's not too late to book somewhere is it? I don't see why possessions are important so early in a relationship. You should be spending the time together and go iceskating or something #shrug#

A week or so.

Many hands make light work. Its to much work for one person and one of the IB mods didnt feel like he could devote enough time to it and leaving it how it was would have left Spiderman on his own.

depends on how long you have been a couple. £100 is a lot of money. Im maybe just a typical tightwad jock but it seems like an awful lot. Lingerie - very much a personal taste, by all means go shopping with her to buy some, but let her pick her own. Jewellery - same as above, but if you mention taking her shopping for jewellery she will either rip your arm off dragging you to shop or run a mile. What about a fun activity day - inside freefalling or sphering, paintballing with a few pals. good luck.

ps DD if you are reading this, you're still getting nothing for xmas x

fenjer
27-11-10, 09:59 AM
Dont buy her lingerie.
Or perfume.
I like the Thomas Sabo idea, but if she already has one or one similar then it's a no go.

Pay attention to what jewellery she wears, Links of London are another popular style around just now.

A new pair of white stiletto boots and an even shorter skirt???

On a slightly more serious note, if she doesn't have a decent camera £100 would get quite an acceptable compact. Add the personal touch by taking a couple of pictures with it, one where you first met and another of where you're taking her for dinner...

Keith.

How about...
a slightly trashed R1?

or...

an R1 / Blandit 1250 hybrid. Front end Blandit, back end R1.

Or, on a more serious note, you could try and get her some Take That tickets. You'd probably have a bit of a job getting a pair of tickets for under £200 but it may be worth a shot?
