Is anyone else both saddened and frustrated by the depths to at which some of their friends have fallen?
These facebook memo's saying
"Dave is at Tesco"
sent from his blackberry.
WTF is the point?
I'd never expect even one of my closest friends to call me up to tell me they're somewhere completely unrelated to what Im doing unless there was some sort of story worth telling.
I mean I'd never expect dave to phone me and say "hey matt Im at tesco" unless it was followed by "and I've just been f*****g that check out bird in one of the changing rooms"... for example. Yet people seem convinced that everyone gives a 5h1t what they're doing/where they are, and thats why I feel sad for them. Because they're clearly so underwealmed by life that they feel their weekly big shop is their highlight.
ANNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYWAYYYYY, this getting on anyone elses nerves?

yes I dont like it.. I would like to use it to stalk ppl to scare the crap outa them..
Wow! Dave sure leads a Rock and Roll lifestyle!
I bet he's buying BEER at Tescos!
hehe, it seems to be the "tweet" generation that want to let you know what they're doing every single minute of their day - although it does make me laugh when you see a frape on their accounts - my friends one the other day said something along the lines of "could do with a big c**k" :D

I like that - responding with "Yeah- I was watching you from aisle 3" or something similar. THAT could be fun!!
Yeah well. Thought you might like to know that I'm just leaving work now, will be going through the Birkenhead Tunnel in about 10 - 15 mins. Stopping at Sainsbos Ellesmere Port to get a few tinnies. When I get home I'll go for a wee, being sure to wash my hands.
now if it was DangerousDave, that would be news.

you get a job then mate or is this hypothetical?
I must admit, I very rarely bother... if it is trying to keep track based on what you tell it, then I'm probably still at the Ace enjoying dinner from 3 weeks ago ;)
I'm not too interested in people at work, unless they also work somewhere interesting

I agree, its stupid and a waste of time, along with people posting music vids and taking all the space up on my page, nobody cares, so little in fact i deleted my mate yesterday as he kept doing it with 10 vids at a time, get a fooking life.
Facebook is starting to bore me already, only joined a few months ago.

Seems crazy to me. How long until it gets someone in trouble with the police or similar because their facebook tells them exactly where they were
I think you'd have to be a grade A idiot to put something like "is at Barclays Bank, High Street (Robbing it lol)"... anyone want to open a book on it happening within the next 5 years?
Yeah.... it's even sadder than mega-posting on here!
I like Facebook. I track what me kids are doing :-)

Be great if it was a public event they invited their associates to! X has invited you to attend Bank Robbery on 13th December 9:00am RSVP. Bring your own weapon.

Doesnt bother me to much, just dont get me started on people who advertise the fact that they are about to "Have a facebook cull" If you didnt know me very well then why add me in the first place...
*waits for people to post "Having a face book cull" type status updates to appear on facebook page"

It's useful for sharing photo's or your own videos, and interesting status updates for real news. Other than that it's a waste of bandwidth. Especially all those bl00dy games! It's also IMO a seriously bad idea putting so much of your life online, hence why I now have two facebook accounts, one with only trusted friends and family on the list.
You can block status updates without deleting the friend if you wish. You may have a real friend who you want to keep, but just has an annoying habit of posting nonsense.
It really annoys me when people use it to track their whole day...and even more so when they add other people to the mix...
dave is at tesco
dave is at costco
dave is at homebase with mrs dave
dave is at next *yawn* with mrs dave
dave is at the hawks head with steve and ben
Feck off!!
Echo the stalkerish comment too.

It's also sad when people put a cyrptic status that nobody else understands, just to attract attention, questions like "oh no, what's wrong honey?" and look mysterious!

I'm sometimes guilty of the cryptic status. though it's not done to attract attention usually they are cryptic to those not involved in whatever the situation.
Sometimes cryptic is the only way to get round the NMC bull**** that says in vague terms that we're not allowed a profile on a site like facebook *cough*or a life...*cough*
