got out of the car this evening and when setting the alarm on from the fob, the hazzards usually flash twice. This time however they didnt flash they just stayed on, and stayed on and stayed on...
The alarm is functioing correctly as is everything else, the car starts drives etc but the hazzards just wont go off.
OH and they're not flashing either they're actually perminatly on, like 6 orange beacons of confusion.
I've disconnected the battery to avoid any issues with flat batteries in the morning but if you've any suggestions then it'd be massivly apprechiated.

Have you tried reconnecting the battery and seeing if they're still stuck on?

Is it an aftermarket alarm with a connection into the hazzards?

Issume so as the immob is on a 2nd fob which needs to be connected into the dash reciver before attempting to start the car, whcih doesnt seem very factory.

Then I guess the aftermarket immob box will have a feed into the hazard circuit, it could be that thats kaputt and the cars own electrics are fine. Can you find it and give it a good slap? Listen for it ticking (or not if faulty) when the hazards are supposed to do their two flashes?

it does indeed click, as do the indiators when they're knocked on. But click is all it does the lights remain on solid.

fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiixxxxxxxxxed it!
well not fixed it but identified the problem at least.
Hazzard button was connecting even though the button was out gave it a few taps listening for the clicks and it seems to have solved it.
NOTE TO SELF DO NOT USE HAZZARD LIGHTS, (great weather for it).

Well done. First law of diagnostics is to hit everything.

"+ im freezing" It will be even colder driving tomorrow morning with the window open using hand signals;) if you pull the fuse
Sounds like the flasher relay is knackered, try bringing it indoors in the warm to eleviate any moisture and then when you reconnect plug it in and out a good few times.
Alternatively if you can open it without damaging it give it a spray with WD40.
Not the technical answer you are probably looking for but tricks I have used in the past as stop gaps till I have got a replacement

Spray the switch with WD---------SORRY I didn't realise you had used the hazards but they should have flashed with the hazards on surely---not been permanently on

Oddly enough thats just what ive been out to do, jammed a straw into the gap around the switch and gave it a bit of a spray cheers :) hopefully not enough to short anything out but we'll find out in the AM and at least by then its on works time.

You will not short it out,I do that to my bike switches 3 or 4 times a year
