Nobody believes you when you say it. Nottingham city cente has none, and once you head down the motorway there is next to none, mansfield has been hit pretty hard.

This is first thing this morning

The neighbours and I dug the cul de sac out this morning, it took about 2 hours and gave me just enough run up to get out of the street.

Now sat at work in Frimley... where there is nothing.

About 6 inches or so in Halifax, more to come tonight and tomorrow supposedly. Have pics but not uploaded.
But then I live high up. I will go up ont moors tomorrow with the dog, and I reckon it'll be much deeper, and even though hes a tall dog he'll disappear in places!

Cardiff: hardly anything, just enough to cover the grass.

Caerphilly: half an inch at the most, but that's melting, I wish the sidewalks would too as those and the side streets still have ice on them but the main roads are all clear.

Urbane, that is a truly stunning view. But I don't understand how you can cope with so much snow and cold. The snow here is unusual for November/December. Ever thought about moving, despite the idiot politicians England is actually very nice....:D

I actually moved here from England in 1996. The low temperature can get to you sometimes, but in Calgary we are fortunate that the Chinooks mean that we only get really low temperatures for a week or so at a time. It was +4 C today (but -47 C on Nov. 23rd!)
As you can see in the photo we are less than an hour from the Rockies, stunning riding in the summer and world class skiing in the winter.

Damn. Public transport with the proles then...

How do helicopters change the weather? :D
The rotors blow the exhausts down and warm us up!

Seriously, the Chinooks are the warm dry winds that blow over the mountains from BC. They can raise the temperature 10-15 C in a matter of hours.

Nothing to worry about in Wigan.

On mt travels around the motorways of Manchester, it seems this part of the world has missed the fun! Stalybridge is slippy, Rochdale and Oldhm are too.

There's about a foot of drifting snow around Junc. 22 M62 and the Farm in the middle of the motorway.

Overall, very dull.

Pete ;)

Bit annoyed today, I live out of the city there is only 1 person who lives further away than I do and he's not been in all week but does rely on public transport. This is all since Monday night when we got a little more than a foot, I've still made it into work everyday, but got stick for been a tad late.
Yesterday about 6inch of snow hit leeds itself and everyones given permission to go home at half 2. Then today suprise suprise Im in work and all but 2 others decided it wasnt worth the risk of travelling in. Not impressed!

I have spent most of my morning at work working out a way to get my boss back from Jersey Airport, it closed yesterday afternoon and has closed for today as well!

At least 16 inches here near Brands Hatch, started snowing early Tuesday morning and hasn't almost stoped until now (Thursday night), worked that day no problem almost a foot deep next day and another six inches on top of it today. My parents have lived locally here for over 40 years, they cannot remember having so much before.
