I got round to fitting the Givi Luggage today in the freezing cold.
I am impressed with the final result, but it was a total bastward to fit to the bike.

Nice dan, you went for the expensive stuff then ;)
Hope your rear shock can take it.
Just need a nice destination now to test it.
Just take it out in the snow, those new bumpers you've fitted will prevent any damage :p

It has a new Nitron rear shock on, so I am sure it will be fine.

Destination - AR11 next year and a Euro trip me thinks.
Think i'm getting old before my time but thats a nice setup :thumleft:
I'm going to get the E41s after xmas methinks, like the idea of being able to open the top without using keys and without having to take the damn thing off its rack
How much how much? :)

If I post on here hoe much I paid, and my wife read it I would be getting divorced! They aren't cheap I promise you.
Got a hefty bonus from woek so I though I would spend a little (a lot) of it.:D
Haha fair enough. The best presents usually aren't free, they're the ones you get yourself :)
I found this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230352275227&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#shId)seller on eBay that seems to be much cheaper than others (VAT included in the price) cough once for good, twice for no no ;)

That is about £35 less than I paid for mine. Mine are from CMS in Exeter.

Gives me some good time to work on the wife. Which will be without doubt the hardest thing about it all!

After 2 trips abroad on the ninja, with a tailpack, throw over panniers and half a dozen bungee cords  the sight of a fully luggaged up bike looks verrrrry appealing :)
Well I think that guy on eBay will be getting my custom in the new year

I went the same route. I bought a load of Oxford stuff off ebay with bungee cords and everything. I strapped it to the bike and took it off again, and it was enough for me to say - fook that. I couldn't be arsed with that everyday on a trip away!

I've also got a triumph tank bag that will hold loads :)
Soft luggage is a major ballache. We moved around from place to place on our trips, so pretty much every morning was spent fixing the stuff to the bike and then laying an intricate web of bungee cords to hold it all together! Still slid around too much when going fast and if it wasnt for having a carbon fibre exhaust 1 of my panniers would have a big burn hole in it!
+ not as water resistant as hard panniers and main issue for me was security. Pointless going all that way somewhere abroad to then worry about getting your luggage nicked when you park up.
I'm thinking of getting a SW Motech quick lock tankbag, that way its secure too. Theyve already had my life savings for the luggage racks so may as well go the whole hog :)
