Has anyone got any experience of TCX Competizione S Gore-Tex boots.

Yes I have read the review section, and they get pretty good reports. However more people read this part.

I want to know if they are comfy, and if they are sized large, small etc.

My Sidi Vertigo's are an 11 and they kill my feet walking any distance in them. They must be well smaller than an 11 in reality.

Any thoughts please?

Got the non goretex version and love them. I think there a little on the small side size wise as I couldn't get the zip on till they were broken in. If they fit there ace !

ummmm not sure what size to get. I am an 11.5. My SIDI's are an 11 are they are too small. Might go for a 12?

I've got the non-goretex...fantastic boots. Gear shifting was a little weird to start with, but once they loosened up, they are fine.

I just bought my normal shoe size (12) and don't have any issues. Spent dozens of days wearing them all day.

Weird that Dan cos my sidi's are really comfortable, i could walk for miles in mine and have been since the day i bought them.
Wrong size boots made by anyone would be uncomfortable i guess.

They do have the new s - race gore tex version either out soon or now, im still waiting for my pair to come through from our supplier, so you maybe able to get the competizones cheaper as i think that is now a discontinued range

I have wide feet and that doesn't seem to fit with the Sidi design. I can wear them, but to walk any distance in them kills me

I've got the standard Competizione S and they are really comfy. I've got a lot to say about these boots because they saved my foot. I was T-boned (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=132860&highlight=t-boned+work) by a Peugeot 206 and it crushed my foot against the bike enought to bend the heel plate into the swinger and crush the exhaust. Although I thought my foot was broken, it wasn't and I was back on the track just three weeks later.

I've worn right through the toe sliders and was asking about replacements on the Shark Stand ( TCX importer ) at the show. Told the guy how impressed I was with the stiffness and reinforcing of the boot and he has sent me my sliders and some silicon grease ( to deal with the legendary squeek ) FOC. They arrived yesterday. Turns out the guy was the MD :D.

Anyway, great service, great boot and very happy. I also have wide 'plates of meat' and the sizing is right against my other footware.

I've got the Goretex ones, they're fab, the sizing is perfect (unlike Sidi's which are 1/2 size smaller than the stated size) and they're absolutely bullet proof. I've had 2 offs with mine (1 road, 1 track) and they're still mustard. Completely waterproof after 26k.

There's a huge thread on these. They're excellent, like slippers, don't think they come under/oversized just try them on!

I bought the Competition Zone S Goretex but did not find them that comfy so changed em for Sidi Vertigo Goretex which i find excellent. I was impressed by the TCX construction though and like others have said they are sized about half size bigger than Sidi boots.

I have sidi Vertigo at the moment, and they are no good for my wide feet. There are wearable, but I just can't walk any distance in them. My TCX's get delivered today so I will see how they compare.

Hope they work out for you. Feet come in all shape and sizes and its great that there are so many boot vendors as you are bound to get some thing perfect for your feet at some point.

ARRRRRRRRAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Mine arrived today, but they are too big and slipping on the ankles. Got to fook and pi55 about now and exchange them. I am a size 11.5 and went for the 12. Wrong call!

Anyway other than that they were pretty comfy for the 5 mins I had them on!

Hate to say it Dan, but i prefer to buy things like boots, lids and jackets etc from a shop for that very reason, try them on there and then.
Or, be naughty and find the size you like in the shop then order that size online, but this will effectively kill off bike stores so dont do this :)

So do I every time mate. However we have infinity and Hein Gericke in York and neither stock TCX boots. That's the trouble living in a little town / city!

Lesson defo learned for the shoei qwest lid!

Doh, Yeah they're the same as your (well, mine) trainer size if not slightly bigger, and re - wide feet TCX are the only brand I could find that I could even fit mine into and they're damn comfy!

I've got the older Oxtar branded version with the calf slider at the top. I really rate them and I'm quite fussy about bike kit. I've done a few thousand miles in them now and they're as comfy as the day I bought them.

If I remember right the Competizione S are made of leather, which is a big plus point, and being Goretex lined they won't leak. Mine fitted me perfectly from day one and took little time to break in, I have fairly wide size 7 feet and the Oxtars were the only Italian boots that I could wear. Another big plus point is they are CE approved as bike safety clothing for professional riders, so you know they'll protect you properly. Very little bike kit is proper safety kit, most can be regarded as bike styled fashion clothing

Well my size 11 arrived today and they fit perfectly. They feel like slippers and I was proudly marching about the house until the wife wipped them off me and said, "You are not having them until xmas day" lol!
