View Full Version : AR11 Bunkhouse share list.

I'm thinking that if I don't have to haul a tent & air mattress, my ride up to the AR will be much more comfortable (and faster). So spending £28 to stay a bunkhouse for two nights sounds quite promising.
With that in mind I'm starting a bunkhouse share list. When a bunkhouse fills up the people on that list are committed to pay, even if they can't make the AR. Each group should decide among themselves who's going to book...

P.S. If you really can't make it you might be able to sell your spot nearer the date, especially if the weather turns 'northern'.

Once we've got enough people to book a bunkhouse I'll update the main thread.

Sounds like a good idea - I've removed myself from the main thread.
Once I've spoken to my Mrs (she is still not sold on me attending AR11) I think I'll opt for the bunkhouse.
How would you like the money sending?

Cool, just thought I'd let you know it was there, and update it with your name so it didn't fill up and you lost your place.

Can I just add, for info purposes. If people decide to go the bunkhouse way, one persons deposit can book any one bunkhouse. SO, if it seems popular choice, and a place in one is to be garanteed, you may want to consider this.
It may garantee that 'other' parties lose out if we have booked them all.
Dunno if thats helpful at all.
Thems bunkhouses are very useful having self catering facilties......just in case it rains.....wonder how many orgers can squish in there( I didn't say that out loud)!

I'd go for the 4 bunk-house. Happy to hold it on my deposit.
Jo
Edited to add: They take one full night's deposit to book a bunkhouse. So for the 4-bed, I've put down a deposit of £60. Has a microwave, kettle and toaster, which seem more than adequate to me, seeing as they also do buffet suppers :-D

Once I get a couple more people for the six-man bunkhouse I'll place a booking, but with only me in there it would be a tad expensive.

Keith - Just a thought but if you haven't already booked you could bunk in with mine or I could change mine to the 6-man cabin :P I don't think they're refundable but this far in advance, I believe deposits are moveable.

I think perhaps we need a little bit of advertising for you guys who have come forward to book these.

lol Like snazzy banners etc? Out of my expertise, I'm afraid! How about the mods making this a sticky? :)

I am a mod ;)
Just for now I have posted up in a few sections, to try and stump up a bit of interest for you. I doubt stickying this thread will really make much difference TBH, as there is already an accomodation sticky thread, for the moment this ones at the top of the normal threads tree so I doubt it'll get missed.
I will link this to my OP in that thread for you though.

Ok, thanks ;-)
I'm guessing that people have really got their eyes on the next week's festivities at the moment.
People will start sorting out all next summer's stuff then I'm sure

Rather obvious though eh!
No harm in giving folks a poke, seeing as theres lots of talk about these things in the early days, then people tend to shut up when its handed to them on a plate.
TBH not only are people in the midst of festivities, but theres a lot of folk biting nails over tax, petrol, jobs and a whole barrel of crap stuff right now, so I'm not surprised people have shoved it under the carpet now its there for the taking.
Have to remember though, the poll got buggered up because of bunks being booked, so if accomodation isn't available this time, its not from AR11's lack of advertisement.

I'm up for a bunkhouse place mr keith_d.
When do you need to be paid by, or will it be when we arrive?

When we arrive is fine, just remember that you're committed. If you can't make the AR it's your responsibility to find a replacement or pay for the empty bunk.

If DT has booked the bunkhouse, buy a tent quick and don't sleep too near the bunkhouse either :D
Waiting to see if he has booked the bunkhouse first before I commit myself to a booking
It's a 6 man... grab the last place and hope he doesn't pitch tent too near you

Haven't seen it posted here, if it wasn't for this post, I would have been in for a surprise:
Speaking of which there are one or two bunkhouses available on the site, if folk are interested.
And upto press one space left in one of the bunkhouse.
Don't forget you still need your own bedding for them.

That space has been filled by Suzukigtpaul, on the main accomodation list.
I might stay another night too
Anyone else?
I'm tempted to stay till Monday morning, any idea if it's possible just to pay for one bunk for the extra night or do you have to pay for the whole thing?
keith_d
29-07-11, 03:07 PM
I think we have to book the entire bunkhouse.
If there are four of us wanting the extra night we could rent a four-man bunkhouse (or maybe negotiate to stay put and pay the four-man rate).
I've booked Monday off so I'm up for another night.
Keith.
dizzyblonde
29-07-11, 05:19 PM
I'm sure if you can get four together for an extra night, and ask nice, you'll be accepted to stay over. Doesn't look as though they have any bookings on their web page for the Sunday.
darkdreamsgal
31-07-11, 07:59 PM
I could be wrong, but I think you're able to book individual places in a bunkhouse for a supplemented price (£17 a person instead of £15) - you just might not be able to object if they place other 'singles' in the same bunkhouse. Worth checking with the campsite just in case, no?
