is it a gell seat?

I'm about 99% sure the lowered seat is not gel. I'd like a standard K3 seat, if anyone has some sort of gel K3 seat or a converted seat from somewhere like Tony Archer, then we could look at a deal involving some cash as well.

Hi, I've got a standard K3 seat and am looking for a lowered one. Whereabouts are you?

I'm in Birmingham... Bit far from Brighton but if you do happen to be coming this way at any point we could always swap. There's always the posty option but it'll need to minimise disruption to rides. What condition is your seat in? Mine is in great condition.

Hi,
I may be coming past Brum in the not too distant future so we could do the swap in person. I've only just bought the bike and am waiting for the lowering kit to arrive/be fitted before I can ride it - 5'4" in the vertically challenged stakes. There is a very small mark, which looks like the start of a burn, on it but the guy I bought it off didn't know its origins as it was there when he bought it. Can take a pic and show you.
Apart from lowering the seat a few more mil - do you know exactly how much less yours is than standard? - I'm guessing you probably also get a slightly less cushioned/comfy ride?

Cool, how big is the mark? Yeah take a picture and either upload it on here or email it to me at jrt678@bham.ac.uk I'll take a picture of mine this evening asnd add it to the thread, I'm not sure how much less than standard it is, it obviously fits in the same way, they just lose some of the extra padding I think. I've not found it too bad unless I'm doing >200 miles a day. It must have less padding than the standard as thats how they lower it, but it gives you a slightly less wristy riding position aswell sitting lower in the bike. I'm going around Europe for 4-5 weeks this summer so am considering doing something like either getting a corbin or a sargent or maybe getting a standard seat reworked by Tony Archer or someone like that. So I thought I'd give the standard seat a go for a few long weekends in the UK and decide what to do, then if I decide it's ok great, if not then I have a standard seat rather than a lowered seat to get reworked by Tony Archer if I choose to do that, since I'm pretty close to 6ft I have no need for a lowered seat, so if I'm gonna spend money on it, it may aswell be a standard seat. Anyway, I'll upload the photos this evening!

just one thing, you sure its lowered ? the k3 seats are thinner than the k4+ as standard so look lowered but there not

Interesting, no I'm not 100% certain, I was told it was a lowered seat when I bought it, and it is quite a bit thinner than a friends on a curvy, but I have no K3 to compare to. I'll take a load of pictures and some measurements tonight, then people can advise if it is indeed lowered or not.

Right I've taken a few pictures, they're on my phone in the underground car park though so they're not ideal but hopefully it will determine whether it is indeed lowered or not!
I also used a tape measure in a couple of them, the thickness at the back of the seat is 2cm to the point where it transitions to horizontal. And on the side of the seat it is 3cm to the point where it transitions, thats the last photo, cos of the poor lighting and camera it's difficult to see where it levels out but I've highlighted it in paint. So what do you reckon, is it lowered like i've been told?
