View Full Version : Jobs to do over Crimble/Noo Year
On the list:
1. Clear out the garage
2. Do some more decorating, fed up of looking at bare plaster
3. Grout the tiles in the utility room:evil:
4. Chop up a huge pile of wood from the old roof. Can't do that till I do job #1 as otherwise there's noplace to store it:rolleyes:
5. Sow my chillis for next summer, you have to start them really early as else they don't get big enough. I buy the bog standard Suttons 'de Cayenne' seeds and for really hot I use F1 'Apache' seeds:smt028 both from down the garden centre, none of the pricey stuff you have to send off for. I'll have loads, so if anyone would like a few plants...
6. Get some more brew going, IPA on the go already:drink:
7. Get some turbo cider going as a stop gap:drink:
8. Investigate a summer holiday on the bike to somewhere warm:riding:
9. Few trips to the tip/recycling facility:(
10. If it thaws out (big if, that) lay some old railway sleepers to create raised beds and backfill with a pile of topsoil that was left over from when I dug the drain run and inspection chamber:D
11. If it thaws, and once job #10 is done, start the decking project:D:D
12. Have a rest:rolleyes:
...and you?

My list
1. Sober up!
2. New Year
3. Sober up, again!
2. Start Job hunting
3. Get a job
4. Sort a truly battered shed out!
5. Consider Ed's No 5
6. Sort the Bike out, all I need is some paint :)
7. Consider home brew once the spare rooms empty
8. Look into the cost of a jaunt to the IOM!
9. Control the itch to go out on the bike until the thaw
Thought of one more to add to the list:rolleyes: We inherited a huge old bramley apple tree, it desperately needs a haircut. They seem a bit awkward to prune as they always fruit on the tip, so if you prune them you chop away the fruit for next year. Anyone got any ideas?
2. Start Job hunting
3. Get a job
Now you've depressed me:(

Now's the time of the year to prune apple trees really Ed. I'd be inclined to forego the fruit for a year and get the thing pruned and into shape. Open the centre out - you should be looking at a goblet sort of shape for the tree.
