Well, it was fun whilst it lasted, but the Christmas tree is back in the loft, the decs are away in boxes and sanity has returned to the Bluepete household.
The kids have donated old toys to the local childminder and charity shops so there is space for new things, the living room is tidy once again.
I love the whole Christmas thing, but in small doses.
Grinch or grump? I don't care 'cos I can see the telly again!

Oooooooohhh,
Get you!
Bitch!!!

Each year I think the less decorations go up, the less to take down. If I was single I would have a tree, some plain white flashing lights and........................ Well that would be it. Just enough.
Only 48 weeks before the decorations go up again and we haven't taken ours down yet!

They have had them at work for 3 weeks. At one point the display tray had the last of the "super size" roses chocolates in it as well!

The Grinch has just dismantled our tree, so I can put it back in the loft.
Bring back Eric and Ernie Christmas specials. We watched the 1977 one last night, even my 13 year found it funny. I laughed more than I did when I watched Come Fly with Me, which was dire
I took our tree down on 28th. It was a plastic one and it shed needles. going to get rid and get another fibre optic one for next year. no lights or decorations required.
I will leave ours up for another week at least, it is a shame to take down all the pretty sparkly decorations, it makes the house look bleak afterwards.
Because you didnt get any
;)
Now that was very very funny:D
I don't bother putting up decorations anymore, we usually go away at Christmas and the cottages we rent usually has a tree in, so that's enough for me.
Christmas tree in loft yesterday, decs also down...
Just in time for my missus Birthday dec's that went up an hour ago... :0)
Happy 40th Dearest :0)

I was tempted to try and get the tree through the loft hatch with all the decorations and lights still in place. In the end I dismantled it but had the assistance of the cat throughout.
As fast as I was folding up wire branches he was jumping on them unfolding them, he then decided that all the baubles were cat toys to bat around the room, and finally when I had an awkward armful of trunk and branches to put in a narrow box I found him lying flat out in the box with is feet in the air. I love him dearly, and he's an elderly 15 years old but he has moments where his inner kitten gets the better of him.

Bad luck to leave up past 12th day if you believe in all that...
Mine came down yesterday after a delay due to family stuff. I want a tree like my sister's, per-lit, pre-decorated - just take it out of the box and plug in, bloody marvellous!
