Hey All,

Long time viewer-er but I thought I'd sign up to show of my lovely little 650.

Got her in August (I think, I'll check though) and I've been adding bits and bobs (and solving haunted house flickery lights).

Few Pics of her ebay shots.

http://2nxs.co.uk/img/SV/1.JPG

Already got LED indicators and had a previous a/market end can (though original reattached at some point) so that's handy :)

http://2nxs.co.uk/img/SV/3.JPG

In bits trying to sort out a dodgy indicator (thanks mr beepy horn behind for letting me know, that could have been messy) and a dodgy rectifier (thanks SV Forums for telling me it was that causing my dippy lights)

Also I think it might have had a different one anyway as it was quite small and all the wiring was custom, put a much bigger one back on and all was good nice bright(ish) lights again. It's amazing how much better it is at night when you can see!

With my new Beowulf Can fitted, sounds amazing by the way, real growler. Also on this pic I have a Carbon effect rear hugger (thankyou Pyramid plastics @ BMF Lincs) Osram Nightbreaker bulbs and lots of polishing.

When I got my Beowulf the "L" was hanging off so they very kindly sent me several sets of transfers to fix it. Didn't see the point in wasting them so I stuck them to my Forks and Yoke.

So this is my Bike as of December / January 2011 It's back in bits with cable spaghetti for my HIDS . ( I have in fact now got these fitted and functioning perfectly, the Ballast is hidden just above and to the rear of the grills on the fairing.

I'll get a picture of them fitted and draw on a diagram of wear I wired them if its any use to people

Also few things I've not mentioned so far that were done earlier in 2010 are:

Repainted Shock, Added Custom engraved heel plates, nice new tank pad (aren't old ones hell to get off!) Also added some soft Velcro so the tank and seat fairing because it kept squeaking.

Hope its interesting to somebody I'll keep updating this post with anything else I tweak :)

Great site btw I'm a web designer and computer repair guy by trade so I'm sure I'll give SV members a discount on here sooner or later.

Looking good, I am sure that at some point some one will make a disparaging remark about it only being a curvy though!

Keep up the good work.

It was pretty good value, I sold my Marauder 125 for £1350 and bought my 99 SV for £830 (20k), also first big bike so it makes sense for it to be a bit older and less valuable. Think I might have to add a 2K Busa next year sometime if I have the money and space. Fallen for its ugly charms, couldn't let my SV go though.

Looks like a very tidy bike for that kind of money.

Keep posting the updates - it's always interesting to see what folk have done to their bikes.

Oh Dear god what have I created >_< My first thread and I've got poop already :P lucky me lol.

Anyhoo I just like the fun of making an older bike look a bit different (except swearing at changing the sparks this morning with my cheese/finger grater radiator).

Also massively over compensated for the bleed on my HIDS and ended up riding round looking at the floor so back up they go tomorrow if I get time.

so whats increasingly modified?

Deadmatt
07-01-11, 07:21 PM
over a given period of time things have been changed, so if you take point X (when I bought it) and take point Y (now) isolate the things that weren't on it at point X but were on it at point Y you find there are differences, or "modifications", what's more there are more "modifications" now then when I bought it (compared to a stock bike).

Hence "increasingly modified" ;P

I think Dizzyblonde is after a list of mods that you've done to the bike,
and so to speak so am I :0)

Deadmatt
07-01-11, 07:35 PM
oh I see then I retract my sarcastic response :P so longs as I don't get flamed for my little changes...

*Carbon Ef/t Hugger
*Giant Rectifier (still not sure what it was from though)
*Beowulf Can Stainless Steel (round)
*12 SMD mount LED Sidelight (just fits in with new wiring)
*Engraved Painted Heel Plates
*Beowulf Transfers (Yoke and Forks)
*HID Lights @ 6000k

vid of can here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoUH8aoAE08 (probably shud blur num plate)

As much as I like beowulf products, sticking stickers to every surface you can find just because you have them is chavvy in the extreme.

curvies are the bestest. So there.

This is true. However it needs to expanded a little further. Naked black curvys are the best.

So the modification process has begun. It doesn't stop you know.

DeadMatt - Make sure that the earth for the HID's is spot on, or else it will kill the ballasts...as i found out.

Not bad for a curvy, look forward to seeing what you do in future. Can't say I'm a fan of aftermarket HIDs though.

curvies are the bestest. So there.

Which is why you sold yours and bought a pointy Honda

Milky Bar Kid
09-01-11, 07:43 PM
Meh, My honda is lighter and shiny and pretty. My curvy was awesome though, if it hadn't been for it, I'd have given up biking!

Well at least when YC is around :)
