Hello brethren! I plan on travelling to Kildare (via Dublin port) for Oxegen Festival, 6th-11th July with some friends (and .orgers if anybody's up for it!), but all the ferries seem to be about £300 return with a car.

We'd ideally take a car, but can bike it to save money, or even public transport to save considerably more. Can anybody recommend any methods?

For anybody who is planning on saying "Swim":

"HAHAHAHAHA".

There, saved you the hassle.

if i were you id abuse the good nature of the org and hit up warren and dill for transport
fly to belfast city have them pick ya up and run you down for a few quid and a pint, its a massive 2hrs away
then again i am a **** taking git :)
so that would be £80 for return flight ,£50 in their hand for fuel and lunch, £20 for a round or 2
thats there and back for £150, job jobbed

Four sharing a car makes it a bit more reasonable.Bike to Rosslare is about £50.Theres no cheap way to cross the Irish sea.I went three times last year and the most cost effective all told was four in a car from Pembroke Dock to Rosslare.

£85 return for us in May.

Have you tried Nutt Travel - sometimes its cheaper to book from the Irish side
