I've just received the best news - Chris is flying home from Bangkok tomorrow, with medical assistance. He'll then go straight into hospital over here though we don't know which one or for how long. Once I have more details I'll let you know.

His mate Matty revealed a little gem last night though. When trying to work out how much Chris could remember his Mum asked him some questions including 'Have you got a girlfriend?' and he replied, 'Yes, he's called Richard'! But I'm wondering if what he actually said was 'Wichard'... anything you'd like to tell us Quiff?

Chris has always been slightly unsual in that he arrives in Soho to an SV meet on an SV, but if he ever rides in on one of these we really will have to disown him.

yeah I actually knew at 2am this morning as I was talking to Chris on facebook, they had just sorted out the medical escort for his flight (was 9.20am in the morning there), so with any luck he'll be on the plane around 3am our time in the morning.

Cheers Mark.

He made it on to the plane, though Thai airlines point blank refused to offer his parents an upgrade so they could travel with him in Business class.

However, when he gets back they still don't know where he's going.

Are all travel insurance companies utterly cr@p or were Chris and I just unlucky in that we both had really bad customer service from ours I wonder?

Anyway - he'll no doubt be on here as soon as he's back in the UK telling us not to take the pi$$ out of him as he's such a delicate little thing.

Glad he is on his way back, I bet that in itself will be a huge relief to him and his parents.

Chris is in Watford General Hospital. Fingers crossed he'll be home in a few days. I had a chat with him by phone earlier and he was saying that he's bored. But he also put me on hold in so he could order his lunch (I know where I am in his list of priorities now) and it sounded like he was just saying yes to everything!

On my first aid course today they gave us a few stats. Of people who collapse and go into cardiac arrest with CPR but without immediate access to a defibrillator the survival rates are only 6%.

Chris is a lucky man.
