Moving pointy battery after rear shock mod?

Just about to fit gsxr 1000 k5 rear shock to my sk9 I was thinking about just cutting all the battery bay out and use as storage. I found this on eBay wanted to know if anyone has done it what you think and will it work of faired model. Here is listing
