At the momment i'm currently insured with Aquote (not had to put them to the test lucky so have no idea what they are like) my policy is up for renewel soon and have just got them to quote me for fully comp and protected NCB.

I'm 36, 7 years no claimss, 53 reg sv650s with braided lines, lower fairings, seat cowl, crash bungs, end can, Meta 357vt2. (all declared) also N reg '96' DR350ses. no points, one claim in the last 5 years.

The price for the year £116.57

I actually questioned this, making sure thay had all my details right atleast three times.

Thats just under 10 times cheaper than my insurance (1064) fully comp.

17yrs old and 1 years no claims

It seems to me there's a bit too much cherry picking going on in the insurance market these days. IMO bikerskez should be paying a little bit more (no offence!) and Beaverboy10 should be paying a bit less.

I'm paying £56 fully comp for the stock SV. That's madness - it barely covers the admin of issuing the policy.

That's only £30 cheaper than I was paying when I first passed my test for my SV. That was with A quote as well.

No insurance seems to make sense at the mo. Just paid £86 with 1 year NCB for stock SV.

weird I had the same with them, they were way cheaper than anyone else, it strangely worried me too...

I was with Aquote - best quote by far, but at renewal time, with no changes to me, other than another claim free year, the cost went up by a silly amount. It' seems with cars and bikes, if you renew by default each year you get stitched up. So it it best to shop around each year. IMO.

I was with Aquote last year, TPFT £105, this year, Fully Comp protected NCB £116, the only other one i tried was the policy shop and they quoted £220 for the same cover. i don't understand it and i didn't need Noel tidy beard to ask deal or no deal. DEAL me in.

My SV was through Norwich Union, not sure who my Fireblade policy is with but it's still done through A quote.

If I went direct to NU it was about 3 times the price.

Bike insurance is on the way down allegedly. Less people can afford them for fun, so less miles and less crashes = premiums down.

Car insurance on the other hand lol

Try them... And remember cheap isn't always the best... I wouldn't even think about using some of the no name insurers that have popped up in the past year or two... They are mostly run by Asians out of backstreet shops in Bradford!

Decent security and Aviva are certainly not beyond suicidal underwriting IME so that's probably kosher.

I don't suppose they've sent you that policy document by pdf have they? I'd be interested to read it (the wording, not the schedule with your personal info). Don't worry, I expect it's OK but I suspect it'll be cut to the bone in terms of the little extras.

Wise words. We get markets like this every few years and they're always accompanied by poor policy wordings, some tactical claims avoidance and a little bit of outright fraud.

tbh i might get carole nash down to about £300 and be happy at that unless wicked quotes are good at insurance as well as quotes?

Mines gone down like I mentioned on another thread...

Plus what made me laugh the most was that Carole Nash rang me up after getting my details off GoCompare. and they were trying to beat my cheapest quote of £230 and they couldn't and said they would ring me back with a better quote **Surprise Surprise** they never called back. but then the next day someone else rang from Carole Nash, they are very eager to insure me, lol. and didn't realize his colleague had rang yesterday and he said sorry we wont be able to beat that quote but "you will consider us when you renew next year wont you" haha!!

Well 7NCB is good to keep hold of. And no matter how good a rider or how secure your bike is bolted to the floor, theft and accidents happen. And I bet for £20 more your could protect them. As it be a pain to start paying full insurance again like your a teenager again.. :-)

I was with Aquote until last year when they say they are no longer able to offer me the issuer I previously had with them (Aviva) and offered somebody else at an increase despite one more years NCB.

So shopped around, and Carole Nash ended up cheaper and included commuting cover which I did not have with Aquote.

Although initial quote start off cheap. Mine being £90, it adds up once you then add full roadside recovery, protected no claims, leather/lid etc. sudeenly the 90 quid becomes 170.

Well my sprint and DRZ are both due for renewal beginning of march, so I'm gonna rant about fecking robbing insurance companies.

Here I go,
I've got the DRZ on a separate policy, TPFT, as the currupt bas**rds won't let you use your ncb on another bike I took this policy out last year with 0ncb, £120 with mce insurance, renewal? £140 with 1 years ncb !!!!

My sprints renewal from swinton with 2 years ncb, they want £480, yes, £480 !!
I went on go compare, I can get it for £340, the icing on the cake is on the list of quotes, swinton come up about 8th down the list at £415, so they can offer £65 difference just like that cos they think i won't notice, it's fair to say they can 0121 do one.
I even rang them on Friday to have a go but their network was down and the woman said she would call me back, she never did.

Would it be more cost effective to combine the two bikes or leave them separate ?

Specialone, tell them you have seen the cheaper quote on the comparison site, they'll probably honour it, however still not the cheapest though.
I had the same for the car last year, renewel up, same policy on go compare about 60 quid cheaper, phoned them up to complain and they honoured the web price. The other daft thing was the insurance was cheaper putting the missus on even though she only has a provisional!
