Whilst in the process of pricing up gaskets etc i thought i would put a post in here on some findings of how much certain parts cost from suzuki... ready?
Piston rings - £42 per piston set
Selector fork - £47
3+4th Gear cog - £90
Gearbox seals - £20
i almost spewed at the price for the rings! - the piston rings already on the heads are probably still within spec...but jeez expensive or what!
but, the guy i spoke had some really good advice on what i was doing the minute i mentioned a full gasket set it was obvious to him it was a gearbox problem, asked about cleaning the piston heads and cylinders and he told me just take off the excess and leave a coating of carbon still on them, plus more advice on what wouldn't be necessary to replace on a 14-15k engine ... gotta respect the official suzuki guys eh?
