Hi Folks,

Last year I tried really hard to attend as many bike Nights as I could, but this year is going to be harder due to the new job. Anyway, there is a new person organising the events this year and it looks like the local council are going to charge a lot of money for the use of the sea front again, which kind of defeats the object of raising money for charity!

Anyway, no confirmed dates as yet, but it looks like things are going to start up in late spring/early summer, I will update the thread when I know more.

A nice turn this year will be that I will be paid to attend on a couple of nights, if all goes to plan. I work for a charity that supports adults who have learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities (Autism and similar conditions) and one of the clients I work with is a young woman who is mad keen on bikes. I have promised to take her for a spin and cannot think of a better place to go than the bike night, once it is in full summer time swing. I just hope that we do not teach her too many bad habits when we got for the Hog Roast at Scallies!

Have a great summer of riding every one, could almost feel it coming today on the ride home from work, I even took off my over gloves! Hope to see some of you at Bike Night.

Hugs,

Jayney :smt040

Is the front still a building site or has all that finished?

Is the front still a building site or has all that finished?

They have even paved the new bike park!

However there are still some bits that are being sorted out, but nearly all of it is finished.

I like Weston beach. Stupid northern folks get into difficulty every year.

I like Weston beach. Stupid northern folks get into difficulty every year.

They have some new signs up now too, telling folks not only how dangerous the mud flats are, but also how much human sewage waste and fecal bacteria they are swimming in.

I love Weston Beach too, dangerous mud flats, raw human sewage, radiation and chemical waste from Avonmouth. For anyone coming this year, don't forget your HAZMAT suit! :reaper:

Hey folks, it is the first Weston Bike Night of 2011 next week. I am planning on being there and I may even have one of the people I work with on my pillion seat.

I work with adults with learning difficulties, so if you see me with a young blonde woman, please do not assume that I have dumped Carol and shacked up with some one else! The lass I support is mad keen on bikes and would love to come down for a night or two, not sure if it will happen yet, parents can be very worried about mad lesbian women taking their daughters out on motorbikes! As if I, Mad Aunty Jayne, would be a bad influence in any way!

So if you see us there, do come and say hello, I am most likely going to be wearing a pink hoodie with a pic of an SV on the front and riding my lovely Sylvie.

Hugs

See you there.

Well if you pop down again look out for us, I am usually in combats with black bike gear and occasionally with a pink Sv hoodie. The wife is a red head, usually in black bike gear and clutching a video camera or rolling a fag! Do come and say hello, we are not overly scary! :smt103

Carol and I are on our way down to Bike Night on Weston Sea Front. It is a bit windy so take care if you are riding down from far away. See you there, we are the two tarts with Biker Rock Tee shirts riding a silver pointy with a bar conversion. Come and say hello... ;-)

Don't know if any of you lot did go up there for this Thursday, I've been nursing an illness all week thats making me rather irratable now as with a runny nose its annoying on a bike. Need something like a balaclava or something. Meh my personal Wo's aside I drew up this little map a few minutes ago

THE MAP OF EXTREME AWESOMENESS CLICK IT IF YOU DARE (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=206786252296775120042.0004a32675d66020ceb09)

Hopefully that works as always the map is free for me to edit and update. There is a marker on it on the A38 which is a little lane that sides off from the A38 on cheddar and we used to use it as a stop when I was a kid before we would continue into Cheddar and the likewise area. People coming up from the South West can also easily get at it if they're M5ing it at Junction 22. I however as you can see intend on riding the long way on the more exciting roads leaving Exeter Services at around 3 this gives allowance for stops, traffic and such.

Forecast as I see it at the moment is "Drizzle" but this is a week away. If its terrible or even vaguely rubbish I may just not go but if its light and looks not to be getting to heavy or something I'll be there never been to Weston Bike night and not been to Weston in a good 4 years now. Ummm anything else I can think of :king:

Nope the King didn't help my thoughts but does look awesome. Oh yer for ride back I intend on just a gentle ride on the M5 which'll be the most Motorway miles I'd have done on her since I got her.

This is open to all bikes not just SV's obviously and I think my Mate will be coming along who is quite a Novice still so Speed and Pillions are welcomed. Also is there anyone who is used to riding with a Pillion as there was a guy who posted on here about taking photographs doesn't have a licence but happy to be Pillion. I'd invite him on mine but I've only had a Pillion on my Bike for 500m's as I gave him a lift to his and wouldn't trust myself. Just a thought as it could provide some nice images like through the gorge and such.

Also the Loop through Cheddar Gorge and such is basically me wanting your inputs as to what would be a good way to go and then we'd finish at the Bike Night.

Ok is that enough information I think I've babbled enough.

Basics
Meeting at Exeter Services Leaving at 3
Riding to Meeting point on A38 meeting there between 5.30/6
Riding through Gorge and other such lovely places
Arriving at Bike Night
Leaving Bike Night and M5 Home

I might be there tomorrow evening. It looks like I am picking up some dead chicks on the way home though, which means, do not look in my tank bag on the night!

Give me a shout if any of you are heading down there tomorrow. Hopefully Carol and I will cruise by, although I may also cruise past with my friend on the back after work.

See you down there folks!

Oh by the way, keep June the Sixteenth free for Bike night, I am involved in something special that night! More details to follow!

Hey folks, Carol and I will be down at Weston Sea front this evening for Bike Night. If you want to come and say hello, we will be at the Biker Rock Radio Tent, playing cool music (but no death metal :-( ) and maybe even dancing with those brave enough to join in! Last week it was only one woman and she wandered off when I tried to get the others involved!

See you there or at Scallys once the sea front event has gone quiet.

Hugs from us old tarts!

my better half says that the owl was the best part of bike night!

although... she did show an interest in the two *Vespas that were parked up next to each other, one blue and one white, and asked if she could go for a short pillion ride when we got home. There may be hope yet! :)

Jayneflakes

Awww, Alby went down a storm everywhere she went. She had a lot of attention at Scally's afterwards too.

Keep offering the chance of a ride out and maybe she will get hooked. Nothing nicer than snuggling into your loved one while speeding down the road.

Lovely to see you both.

Hugs from Alby and Carol too!

Jayneflakes
08-07-11, 08:01 AM
Yeah, far to wet for Alby this week, but hopefully next week will be better because she loves the attention she gets.

As for me, the bike got so wet, things started to play up, my front spark plug cap filled with water, my number plate light went out and my alarm stopped working. The alarm was fitted by the dealer, so I am suspecting that there is a poor connection in there somewhere. If it comes to it, I will have to get the lot looked at by a friendly bike electrician I know. Not sure how I will get it up the stairs to his flat though!

A brave federer came and had a chat, despite the heavy rain and nasty soggy ground. The wife managed to catch a dry spell on camera.

This evening Biker Rock Radio is not providing music on the sea front due to there being a couple of bands playing live. However, we are providing music in Scally's.

Carol and I hope to hit the sea front from about seven onwards on our bikes and with out the ****ehawk before heading over to Scally's for a bit.

Hope to see a couple of you there.

Hey folks, we are now in the last month of Bike Nights. Summer is officially over when Bike Night stops. :(

So if any of you have thought about attending, but have not yet got around to it, then pop on down on Thursday evenings through out September. After that, it is all over until next April.

Attractions are great bikes, good people and musical entertainment in the form of live bands and us with the radio. We tried last week to do a live broadcast from the event, but technical problems wiped out our microphone, this week we have fixed that one and should be broadcasting from Six PM. Come along and say hello. If you are really brave, you can have a cuddle with the Barn Owl too! A wipe clean jacket is advisable, she is not very house trained I am afraid! ;-)

:D

This evening is the very last Weston Bike Night of 2011 and what a year it has been. We should be there as normal, maybe with a few extra special bits, but you wont be able to miss us.

Hope to see you all next year. Enjoy this evening and have a great winter. Hugs from us at Biker Rock Radio.

just got back - ish, well 20 mins ago... that was my first WBN of 2011 and obviously my last for this year...

lots of bikes, lots of people, lots of non-bikers or non-riding bikers wandering about... lovely evening, am gutted i got there so late, also gutted that i caused a tailback on the entrance while they waited for me to remove gloves, open jacket, get wallet only to find that i only had a tenner....

walked past the band that was playing and then came across an empty biker rock radio area... saw the bikes that i recognise from the forum but missing were a carol and a jayne.... 20 mins or so later as i came back past, i saw a lovely looking blonde that was about to start eating something but no carol or jayne, in hindsight i should have gone and asked aforementioned lovely blonde, but i chickened out... i wandered slowly back to my bike glancing back from time to time to see if you were there, but you werent... also i was riding with a new found mate who wanted to get going - otherwise id have hung around for a bit..

theres always next year, all in all im glad i made at least one this year, and bar the first probably picked the best one to go along too.... who'd have thought we'd have had weather like that today???

Hey there,

sorry to read that you missed us. There is a chance that I had wandered off with the barn owl and Carol wandered around filming stuff.

The blonde was our DJ Spacecookie, you should have gone and said hello, she is quite safe if a little unusual!

It was a great night, nearly had a thousand bikes for the last one. See you all next April for the new summer season.
