You are taking the p1ss I hope
I built my own alarm using a plc controller which I wrote and programmed a simple program.
I need to add a remote system, I can get the remote triggers for £20 :)
Mine hasn't got PIR though just contacts on the the two entrance doors.

no - I heard all your kit's motrax and since they've gone bust you've started collecting their merchandise in your spare time.
For the sake of £7 I've given it a pop - although making my own did cross my mind last year.

The good thing about plc is I can programme whatever I want, I can electrocute the gits if I wanted :)
Ive got a green flashing beacon to add as well.

No doubt if you electrocute them they would take you to court and win though :S

Only if they find the body :)

Ditto, it wont stop them, but might deter them.
Had someone break into a garage 2-3 doors down the other week, but his alarm went off and his bike was saved. Been padlocking mine since, but wouldn't mind a noise maker if the doors get moved at all.
Let us know how it goes, if it actually works.

will do butr I canh't see it not doing what it says on the tin. It's pretty much just a security light but instead of lighting in makes an alarm - simple stuff. Probably out of the same chinese sweatshop as motrax's but without the sticker.
Will gee it a quick test when it comes, as said it's just a deterrent- a lot of bike thieves are brainless pondlife they'd kick the door in trigger the alarm and run off (to come back the next night). If they want it they'll get it but it's just an extra life.

Pray tell how did you find this out?
Stray spider scampering across the IR?
Perhaps during some elaborate scenario where you got the Mrs to agree to a little role-play in which you were the bumbling inspector clouseau and she was kato?
(not in a kinky way you understand) ;)
Or did you just forget to push the remote as you went into the shed/garage?
My shed alarm fires 12 gauge blanks, no batteries required.

Nah it got delivered to my Ma's house as my postman keeps leaving expensive things on the doorstep (alright, this is £6.99 but I still wanted the alarm) so unboxed it and set it up in the kitchen. I was upstairs when she came home and thought it was loud enough! When she worked out where she was and what had happened, my mum seemed to think it was loud enough too.

:jocolor: me thinks this was not done be accident.
Very sneeky, using your dear sweet mother as a guinea pig.

Oh no, definitely not - you lot asked for feedback and I needed to know it worked.
It's particularly good in that it doesn't beep as it gives you the 10 second grace like house alarms do it just flashes red, so you've more chance of thieving bike scum being taken by surprise and falling over your shin height oximiser cable, face first into your collection of upright knives as they scramble out.

What orginfo commitment!
Now I'm glad you hid it in the kitchen and didn't ask you Mum to 'pop into the garage' for some inane reason leaving her with multiple knife wounds to the torso.
Again, truly impressive on the sneeky-o-meter.
