Well picked her up about 2 hours ago. First impressions are that between Hebden Bridge and Rochdale that it's ****ing down and foggy, so just had a fairly steady trundle home. What a noise though. :smt040

There was only a little in a couple of places.
To be fair, I've heard a few times that the 955 Sprint was bettter built than the 1050. I liked the bike, but it's been so tempremental at times, I'm not that sorry to see it go. Will have to wait and see how this one goes with regards to reliability, coz let's face it, the reputation in that respect isn't great.

Hmmmmmm lovely looking bike, I've not ridden a faired version but if it's anything like the TNT, it'll be a fun ride, hope you enjoy it and have many good miles.
Cheers Mark.

Don't get me wrong it's a cracking bike.
But I found it a bit too much for the road ( for me anyway) stupidly quick etc it was quite heavy on my wrists until i was going about 70 and at the time I had 9 points on my licence so it wouldn't have ended well!
Another thing was the reliability I never had any problems in the year I owned it but it had had quite a few with the previous owner and of course servicing costs was another factor. I sold it before it was due a major service which wouldve cost something like £800!!!!

Did it get collected in the end, or did you sell it to somebody else?

That is very pretty.
Welcome to the fold. ;) Its an exclusive classy club. DD was part of it, but he got old and his body couldn't handle it
DD - really? Too fast?
Im already pondering what I can do to give it some more umph. 1 less tooth sprocket to start with. The gears are sooooo long, 6th is silly, it'll never pull to top end.
Wrists - Tip, rest lower stomach on the tank, takes all the stress off the wrists. I personnally find it a very comfy bike to ride, but different people will have different thoughts.
Gone through a tank of fuel yet? I get about 110 miles before I fill up usually. Prob with another 10+ still in the tank.
DD is right though with these bikes. If you buy new, its under warrantee. Buy 2nd hand, well I wouldn't buy one unless major mods have been done. Or a really really cheap bike without the mods. Either way, you need to know whats been replaced.

Not used a tank yet, but as the weather was shocking on Saturday (fog/wind/heavy rain), I had other plans on Sunday and was at work all day today, it's only done about 15 miles in my ownership. I know it will drink, but not that much. ;)
As far comfort, I suspect it won't be as comfortable as the Sprint was, but will be more than adequate for the riding that I'll be doing, especially once I've got a bit more used to it. Speed wise, I'm sure it will be more than adequate for me, I'm only a plodder.
The bike I have bought is actually a mix of the two options; it's 11 months old, so still has just over 12 months of warranty, and has had all the major mods done, as the supplying dealer also sold it to me. As far as I'm concerned, that means I get the best of both worlds, as I still get some warranty whilst it costing a fair chunk less than a new one.
Why does it have 2 jet engines at the back!
Propellers for when it goes in water.
Sounds like you got a good bike then fella. Replaced parts, and warrantee. My warrantee is my old man
So, www.carbon.sk (http://www.carbon.sk) is now your new friend. Laurence does group buys on them frequently which saves 25+% sometimes.
I found with mine on the road trip, you could stick your knees out a little, rest your elbows on your knees, your gut on the tank, and it was pretty comfy.
But in all seriousness, why does it have fans at the back...
Cooling takes place at the back of the bike - no big radiator at the front so that they could make the front fairing all narrow
Oh. Probably is very clever and such like, but it's an odd look.
Each to their own, but no doubt it's a beast of a bike.
Propellers???? Its the only floating bike. Didn't you hear about it?
 you'd be suprised how many people believe that.
Radiator fans. Radiator is mounted under the seat unit, not behined the front wheel. See:

My god I think these are stunning bikes.
I would LOVE one one these but I would probably just keep it in the garage and set up an armchair and beer fridge next to it and sit there looking at it
man that looks like an expensive rad!
No more expensive than a normal rad. If anything, cheaper.
Its just its location is different, coolent pipes leave ina different direction.
Only flaw with it is it needs the airflow runners down the side to feed it air. Great when moving, not so much when not. But then the fans kick in and suck the hot air out. So it should be a really thin bike, but due to the air chambers, it bulks it out.
Tips in ever so easy though, and weights moved more to the back of the bike. Fantastic idea (british designer!!).
lol just realised I still had the standard Dunlop D207's on. Ewwwwwwwwww.

You cheeky bar-steward Daimo! :smt019
Yeah too fast, i have weak will power and a throttle happy hand and my licence wouldnt have lasted too long :smt040
110 miles? you taking it easy then?
Yeah mine had loads of history with it even down to a receipt for a tank pad!

I was going to ask what rubber you had on now Daimo. The 207s will be on mine for a while yet, but reckon I'll probably end up with a sport/tourer type on next for longevity, coz I'm not that desperate for ultimate grip over that.

Hope it is a good bike. Obviously I have no way of proving the mods have been done without stripping the bike to check, but given it's age and the fact that several dealers told me that "they've all been done now" with regards to unregistered ones, I have no reason to dispute what I was told. [-o<
I'd be happy with yours Gaz. Its dealer sold, has warrantee, plus theres a good help and support lot on the Benelliforum, even if the topics are a bit old manney over there
DD - Only playing dude :) Yeah, im quite sensible on her. Like you, if I rode how I wanted too really, i'd have no license left  Plus those miles were teh motorway runs in France. Get less on A-B roads in the UK. About 100 or so, but the fuelings good on my bike. Old man played around with lots of maps when he owned it.
RE Rubber, we'll i've got a new free Dunlop Quali 2 to go on the front, so im going to match the rear for this year (fronts not on yet). But after that, i'd like to try something different, maybe fork out a decent amount for a nice set of rubber. My next mods is go change the sproket on the back, give her a service, new rubber, and shes good for 2011.

I think I managed to get from full tank to light on in less than 80 miles :smt040
I dont really do sensible
Out of curiosity what are these essential mods?
Z25 driveshaft gear. Early models were thinner and prone to breaking.
Early models had issues with poor quality core plugs.
Water run off pipe is directly over middle cylinder, so fouls the core plugs. Just needs a bit of rubber pipe added to direct the water away. Benelli replacements are £200. Or you buy a Pugeot one for £20 and ammend it slightly  Saves a fortune. I got two for £25 and adjusted them.
Early models had a faulty dash. Temp gauge goes mental etc.
Think there might be one or two others. Basically most early bikes had niggles (like ALL motorcycles). Later ones were sorted, and brand new should be sorted by the importers.
This site tells you everything you could possibly want to know about the 900cc Tornado.
