Back again on the hunt for a gear lever that doesnt eat your boots, without spending 40 or 50quid up on a new original one from Suzuki themselves.
Ive heard that the 'busa gear lever works on the SV. Can anyone comfirm this? theres a couple on ebay which arent hugely expensive.
If this fails i may just bite the bullet and give in to Suzuki's ridiculous prices and be done with it....

most people just buy the rubber gromit covers for it, cost about a quid

nice, may be worth a try for the few quid it is
as for the rubber bits, i should have explained a bit more, ive got one of those levers on ebay that are the metal folding ones, it does the job of changing gear but eats through your boot over time, and a normal rubber thingy wont fit over the top of it, there are simple solutions such as tape or fuel hose or something similar, but its a little naff and something like fuel hosae would make the lever pretty big i reckon

Looks like it's designed to clamp directly onto the splines of the selector shaft, won't be much use for a remote change like the SV has.
OP: which model pointy is yours, K3 or K4?
EDIT: just found it's a K4, in which case RonAyers (http://www.ronayers.com/WhereUsed/N/9935)says the 2008/2009 GSX1300R part will fit. If you had a K3 there are loads (http://www.ronayers.com/WhereUsed/N/9935)of bikes with the same lever.

Yea mines a K4, i didnt think about the 'universal' one fitting on the link arm. Shame as its a pretty good idea if it was to work, a one-size-fits-all for a few quid instead of oem stuff for silly money.
Ive found loads for the '99 - '03 SVs but apparantly they dont fit on the '04 onwards so havnt bothered getting one to find it doesnt fit.
Thanks for confirming that it fits, ill have a trawl through ebay. Does that RonAyers site show parts compatibility or something similar? Links went to the site but didnt show any parts, just a box for the part number.

Sorry about the link not working, it's because the page is the result of a database lookup and the search isn't held in the URL.
Use the Fiche to find the part number for something, then stick the number in the "Where used" box to the left side of the screen and it will list all the models that use that part.

Excellent, what a brilliant website. Bookmarked and hope i dont have to use it too often, i dont like replacing broken bits. But its inevitable so it will come in handy :D

Probably the same one the OP has already fitted, and which damages his boots.

Doesnt look like it wil go through the boot, no rough edges but it eats through really easy. I wore trainers a few times to pop to tesco and it started to eat away after a few trips
