Not sure yet, will see how I feel after a full day on the bike tomorrow.

Its getting to the stage where I think I may have to sell the daytona and start looking at a sprint...

Come Saturday, you can look at my sprint all day long ;)

, just don't give him the keys ;)

You coming on the Sprint then?

Part of the point of my journey tonight to see how clean the roads were, was to decide if it's Daytona or XT on Saturday if the roads are dry here when I leave.

What weather report are you guys looking at?

The Met Office website says for West Mids

"Cold, cloudy and windy on Saturday, with outbreaks of rain or snow clearing later."

From my experience over the last year or so with metcheck, they are generally more accurate than other weather stations, so I tend to rely on them.

99% certain I'll be on the DRZ tbh, was only kidding about the sprint, but yo never know.

How can two weather reports be so different?

Metcheck sold the site a few months ago....not been anywhere as reliable since.

They used to be the best by far, but now I'd use BBC or the met office.

Seaweed Pinecones and a good malt, wot say you Ralph[-o<

I generally use the Met station results for Bham airport based in Coleshill for me they tend to be fairly accurate because they are local to me, up to about 12 hrs in front.

I suspect the day will be a chance of rain but overcast all day, so hopefully will be dry, just not sunny.

Mr Speirs
17-02-11, 10:04 PM
Na, diablo corsa 3's. Fooking rubbish they are.
Had two pretty major slips on them, and it was not at times I was asking much of the tyres at the time.
It wasn't diesel either. I can feel the tyres stepping out under acceleration in damp conditions but it's tiny and not out of control but still never had such bad tyres...oh wait yes I have. The squared off mez4's that came with my Curvy, they were like plastic.

Weather forecast is getting better if you've been looking at the met office.

I'd agree with Specialone at the moment, overcast but dry, with the odd shower if we happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Until 24 hours before it means nothing. I know one of the BBC weather presenters (who are also meteorologists and do the forecasting unlike other channels who just have dolly birds), she told me that it was impossible to forecast accurately in the Scotland more than 4 hours in advance, and no more than 8-12 hours depending where you are in England & Wales. We are an island, and the movement of weather systems across water and how they react when they hit land is variable.

beabert
17-02-11, 11:03 PM
My prediction, dull cloudy and you are all certainly going to get wet in the morning, clearer after 1pm.

You might wanna delay your departure by watching the radar in the morning.

Hope to see you chaps there.

-Ralph-
18-02-11, 12:29 PM
Even if it does rain in the morning, it'll just be waterproofs on to get to the cafe, then pack them away, and by the time we leave for the ride at 11:30 it should have cleared up. Not like we are going to get rained on all day to the point where it gets through the waterproofs.

Just checked 4 different sites and all say some kind of wetness will be going on most of the day ranging from heavy rain to light sleet :(

I too have problems with a lively rear end in the wet so if I do go out will be taking it so steady it probably wont be much fun.

Will have to see what weather is like in the morning.

It will be fine, i'll take it easy anyhow, even when the roads are relatively dry, they can be slippy at this time of year.
I think it will be damp early on but dry later.

Eh ???

Looking at BBC1 weather just, it looks like the rain is heading east so by dinnertime should've cleared.

Do we delay the meet time ?
Do we head west instead ?
Weather is defo better more west.

Do we grow a pair and just suck it up and get on with it ?

I'm watching long way down ATM and see what they had to endure and I'm moaning about a bit of rain ;)

Sorry peeps, it looks as though my "annual guest appearance" is off, fair to heavy rain at the mo. Airport Met office (local) at 08.01am suggesting heavy rain easing at around mid-day.

For those that venture out enjoy, hopefully meet again in the very near future.

Any of the above suits me, but if we head West then we need to change the meet point, if we change the time fine also, but I need to be back in Solihull by 5pm very latest. Stepfather is working tonight so Mother is putting dinner on the table at 5:30.

What I don't want to do is leave anyone sitting at Long Itch at 10:30 because they haven't read the thread this morning. If we change the meet point and time, I will still go via Long Itch at 10:45.

Thanks, still feeling pretty crap & stomach craps. Just had some toast to see if it stays down.

Rideout was good, as Specialone says, visibility on Clee Hill (1300ft)

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=clee+hill&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Cleehill,+Ludlow,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&ll=52.375704,-2.593288&spn=0.012314,0.084543&t=p&z=14&layer=c&cbll=52.37564,-2.593281&panoid=CfDix92JaMa2BejSQR_s4Q&cbp=11,61.58,,0,3.99

was down to about 100ft, 20mph follow the car in front. Not great when you've got loose sheep to worry about. Other than that it was good, if a lot of traffic which the off road bikes don't have the power to get past. I had heavy rain on the way to and from Birmingham, but my waterproof gear doesn't leak. Roads very dirty, bikes and gear looked like we'd been green laning, glad I didn't take the Truimph.

I thought Wembley stadium had 90,000 seats. I know that Fat Barry fella takes up a few seats and the Arsenal fans will sell a few but that still leaves 40,000 odd seats free. Blouse average attendance for home fans is about 20,000 so I can't see how you'd struggle.

Forecast is 10 degrees and sunny for Saturday at the moment. I'll be out on the bike whatever if it stays like that.

Nope, each team has 31,500 allocation of tickets.
The rest are for neutrals and the prawn sandwich brigade.
We average around 20-25k but its not the same 20-25k people, we probably have 70-80k active supporters who go to the odd game home and away, they all want one also.
I did get a ticket yesterday btw, £38 ticket for £70, but after re-asessing my financial situtation while lying awake at 3am this morning, ive decided to give it a miss.
Ive gotta pay my bike insurance and accountant next week which combined is over £800, i cant justify atm spending £200+ on 1 day at wembley.
Im gutted tbh, especially as ive been pestering everybody trying to get a ticket.
Tough decisions have to be made i guess.
