Hello from a wannabe owner

I just joined and thought I'd say hello.

I'm hoping to pass my DAS tests in the next month or so and get myself an SV so I joined to get a bit more clued up! Theory and CBT are done and I just went to the MCN show on the weekend and got kitted up with some leathers and a lid, so just a bike to get, now. :)

As yet, I'm still undecided between a naked or an S version, but it has to be black! :batman:

If anyone can give me pros and cons of either or any advice for a first time buyer, that'd be great.

The only thing Dave got wrong was the curvy being better looking, I don't think so, do you.
The only pointies Dave has seen are crashed ones, they can look ugly then ;)
Buy a later one with a black frame as these look better, especially a black bike.

Ah, so it seems pointies Vs curvies is the subject of many disagreements in these parts :D

I prefer the pointy naked but like both curvey and pointy S models.

I think I'm going to go for a later model with fuel injection. I quite like the contrast on the naked silver frame with black tank. I see they're only on the 03/04 bikes? My budget is about 2200 so I'm going to keep an eye out for something while I get my full license sorted out.

Is there anything to look out for in the age range 03-05? Prices seem to vary quite a bit.

You're all wrong. What the guy needs is an '03 Honda Hornet in blue, 14k miles, recently serviced and MOTed, vgc, going for about £1650 ;-)

More powerful, faster and better-built than any SV650 :thumbsup:

not that i am one to comment any more, being that i no longer own an SV, but curvey all the way, pointys are ok, but only naked IMO.

oh and once more......definatly keep half an eye on reeder! (by the way reeder, your bike looks nice mate, about the only way that i would have a pointy is exactly like that!)

Those black nakeds look the bizniz! That's the sort of thing I had pictured in my head but not quite as clear. I'm swaying more towards the nakeds

Put the gold gsxr USD forks on it and a different headlight and it'll be amazing
